About the site

Tucked away in the peaceful countryside, this friendly site sits close to the Wales/England border. It's a great base for exploring, with the Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog), Hay-on-Wye, and Builth Wells all within a 20 minute drive. There are six cosy glamping pods, each sleeping up to four people. Inside, you'll find a double bed and a sofa bed, with bedding provided, making them ideal for couples, friends, and families. Each pod comes with its own kitchen, including a hob, fridge, toaster, kettle, toastie maker, sink, and all of the essential cutlery, pots, pans and crockery. You'll also have a dining area for eating indoors. Extra touches include heating, a fan, free WiFi, and a TV. Every pod has its own ensuite bathroom with a shower, toilet, heated towel rail, and towels included, so no need to bring your own. Outdoors, you will find a seating area and a fire pit/BBQ for cooking or keeping warm in the evenings. Three pods also have their very own wood-fired hot tub, whilst the other three don't, so you can choose whichever suits you best. The site also has a lake, where guests are welcome to go wild swimming or borrow a kayak and lifejacket for a paddle. A communal barn is open for all, with games, seating, and even a pizza oven for social evenings. All pods are dog friendly, with up to two dogs welcome in each, and plenty of countryside walks right on your doorstep.

A note from the site themselves...

Beacons Bluff Escapes is a vision that started way back in 2016. We developed the site because the view is heart-warming and peaceful, with so much wildlife to see. It was selfish to keep this little piece of heaven to ourselves.

A guest asked us once, "Does that view ever get boring?" The answer was simple, "No, it doesn't". You can watch the skies change with the weather, the colours change with the seasons, and the wildlife just appear and then disappear just as quickly. If you sit for a while and listen, you will hear so many different animal sounds.

With little to no light pollution, the night sky is just as glorious if the clouds play fair. The Perseid Meteor Showers in August are a particular favourite.

Our aim is to create a relaxing space for all our guests so they can switch off and unwind after a busy day exploring this beautiful part of Wales. We hope to welcome you soon, Emma and Andrew

Camping Pod - Ensuite Glamping Pods (Dog Friendly)Nov 2024

Amazing time. I had an amazing birthday weekend at Wigwam holidays in Builth Wells. The pod was amazing, so clean and tidy. Emma was amazing and so friendly, always willing to help. The view from the pod was breathtaking, I would definitely recommend this site to everyone. Thank you Emma for an amazing time.

Camping Pod - Deluxe Ensuite Glamping Pod with Optional Hot TubSep 2024

I booked this trip as a surprise for our aunt who turned 60. Online booking was straightforward and the price was reasonable, even with the additional for the hot tub. The location was easy to find using Google maps. I pulled up to the pod that had my name on it and was able to keep my vehicle parked directly outside the pod for the duration of the trip. The doors of the pod were thoughtfully decorated, which was a welcomed touch. The hot tub was ready for us to use, Emma came over to introduce herself in a smiling and welcoming manner. Everything in the pod has been carefully thought out and selected. The views are outstanding. All the neighbouring pods were occupied by people who respected the peace and tranquillity of the location. We had an amazing experience and I will be visiting again with my spouse, extended family, friends and whoever else would like to join me.
