Set just ten minutes from the foodie town of Castle Douglas this rural site is an ideal escape to the countryside. Conveniently located off the A75, explore the Dumfries and Galloway area or unwind by the beautiful lake and take a stroll to see what wildlife you can spot! A small and secluded site with five electric hardstanding pitches on offer with 16 amp electric hook ups. Pitches are set on gravel and suitable for campervans, caravans and motorhomes. Spacious, with room for a car and an awning alongside your unit. For days out, the coast is just 20 minutes from the site, enjoy a day at the seaside at Rockcliffe or Sandyhills before returning to your pitch. Or, Castle Douglas is only a ten minute drive away with a golf course as well as over 50 independent shops and eateries. For those who enjoy biking the 7Stanes bike trails are within easy reach for a bit of adventure! This site is a member of the Caravan and Motorhome Club. Dogs are welcome onsite but must be kept on a lead at all times due to surrounding livestock.

Lovely quiet location. Arrived and there was a board with our name on it, no one to check us in or check we had arrived. There was a sign in the toilet/shower room saying leave toilet/shower as you would like to find them, which we did. No one from the site came to clean or replenish toilet roll or hand towels. Shower & wash hand basin was blocked. I'm not looking for a big welcome but felt it was a bit rude that there was no contact at all and that you paid £30 per night for the privilege to clean the toilet/shower facilities.

Hi Fiona In response to your criticism about Sheena and Derek not being available on arrival, we currently run a farm as well as other outside businesses therefore we cannot be available all the time. We have notices on our toilet block that give full instructions and also contact numbers for ourselves in case of any problems. As you're aware we have signs in our toilets asking people to keep them clean. This is a small 5 pitch Campsite. We cannot clean the toilet after every individual has been in but we do clean the toilets regularly. I would also like to quote that you paid £30 per night. For the privilege to clean the toilet and shower facility.. the £30 that you pay gives you unlimited electrical power which is fully tested by a electrician also unlimited water supply. Also a fully tested every year toilet and shower block, fully heated with shampoo, shower gel, hair conditioner, paper towels and toilet paper. Also a large drained pitch with grass that is cut regularly and also is fully rateable valued. Kind regards, Derek and Sheena.

Sit back and relax at the onsite lake enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Spot red kites, moorhens, hares and deer around the site and be sure to say hello to the livestock too!

There are lots of walking trails nearby, great for exercising your four-legged friend without having to travel too far! The 7Stanes bike trails are also easily accessible from the site, so be sure to bring your mountain bike along!

For those with an interest in history, there are ruins from the 19th Century a short walk from the site entrance and Cairn Holy (30 minutes) is a set of neolithic chambered tombs dating back over 4000 years!

Foodies will love Castle Douglas (10 minutes) known for it's independent shops and eateries, you'll be spoilt for choice! Here there is also a swimming pool and a golf course too.
