About the site
Located in the tiny village of Bodiam, this family friendly, peaceful site is set across 200 acres of land which is separated into multiple camping and glamping fields. Expect views of Bodiam Castle, access to waterways, and stunning fields and don't forget to keep an eye out for the vintage steam train that heads through the site. Bring your own tent or campervan and set up camp on the family site with 50 grass pitches. The pitches are to the edge of the field, allowing plenty of space for the kids to play. Each measures around 6m x 4m, allowing up to six guests. The beautifully handcrafted shepherd's huts were built by Nick, the owner, using reclaimed, recycled, and locally sourced materials wherever possible. The site is home to two separate glamping sites each with four shepherd's huts plus a wash hut. Sleeping up to five people, these are fully equipped with all you need for a peaceful getaway, including comfy beds, a gas hob, central heating, cooking equipment, and a fire pit. There are shared toilets and shower facilities provided in the wash hut at each site. Bespoke, local produce hampers can also be arranged for your arrival. The farm has worked hard with the community and offers a range of activities on the farm, including watersports, woodland workshops, yoga and more! In the evenings, you can head to the communal covered space, with a campfire and cooking facilities. Be sure to also head to The Hub where you can enjoy a delicious brunch and a cocktail at the bar. During the summer months, you can join in on the pizza nights on Fridays. A small gift shop also sells local goods including hampers and crafts! There are also two more exclusive hire camping fields with their own facilities.
Camping is available from 1st May to 30th September, the shepherd's huts are available from 20th March until 2nd November. Pitches from £33/night for 2 people.

Open fires are only permitted in raised fire pits provided and BBQs must also be raised off the ground.

There is a large exclusive use camping field for up to 30 people which is great for large groups. However, group bookings of 3 or more units travelling together are not permitted and hen and stag parties may be accepted by prior arrangement.

Yes, The Original Hut Company does operate a quiet policy between 10:30pm and 7:30am. No music at any time.
