About the site

Escape to rural Wales at this small, countryside pod camping site. Guests can enjoy panoramic views, with the Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog) 15 minutes away for popular hiking and walking routes. The site is home to just three camping pods, each with electric, heaters and lighting. Bedding, linen and towels are not supplied, so just be sure to bring along your own. Alder is ideal for couples, located in the corner of the site on its wooden deck. It is 6m in size, with space for a double or two single camp beds and mattresses (supplied by the site, but you can bring your own). Chuckleberry and Baldwin share a large deck area. Chuckleberry comes with a fixed bed area which can be set up as a twin or double bed. Baldwin has accessible access with space for up to three in whichever bed configuration you wish (supplied by the site, but you can bring your own). Shared facilities are also just a short walk away, with access to free WiFi too. There is a communal kitchen and covered seating area, with a fire pit and BBQ too. Dogs can join you for your stay!

Facilities include two toilets, two showers, one with a baby changing area, and there is also a drying room/toilet with a washbasin. A communal kitchen offers two ring electric hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle (do note, there is no cooking utensils so please bring your own). Outside is a fire pit and a BBQ. You will also find a cycle rack and have access to WiFi.

A Spar in Whitney on Wye is a 15 minute drive away. The Roast Ox Inn is also a ten minute drive from the site for food and drink.

At Ty Grug Pods, this isn't just a place to stay - it's a part of our life and something we're proud to share. We love welcoming guests to our little corner of the Welsh countryside, especially those visiting from cities who are often blown away by the peace, quiet, and sweeping views.

This land is part of a working farm, where you'll often see sheep, cattle, and, depending on the time of year, newborn lambs and calves. It's a way of life that keeps us grounded and connected to the rhythms of nature.

We also grow blackcurrants here, which go on to supply Ribena growers, and our pods are named after the varieties we propagate. Sharing this mix of beauty, simplicity, and hard work with our guests brings us real joy.

Hay-on-Wye is a 15 minute drive away, great for days out. Famous for its charming book shops, the town is home to Hay Castle and offers scenic walks along the River Wye.

For a scenic stroll, Water Break-Its-Neck waterfall is 30 minutes away. There is a long circular route that is dog friendly too!

The Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog) are within a 35 minute drive. Enjoy amazing walking and cycling trails, with Pen y Fan a 50 minute drive from the site for a challenging climb.
