About the site
If you are searching for a restful getaway within easy reach of Exmoor and the coast, this small riverside site could be the ideal choice. Outside, there is a private back garden with outdoor furniture on a lovely raised decking area to relax, a fire pit, and a BBQ grill for al fresco cooking.
Meanwhile, Olive can sleep up to three guests. Inside, you will find a double bed and one 6ft pull-out single bed, seating, a kitchen, fridge, and heating. Outside, there is a garden area with outdoor furniture and a BBQ grill for al fresco cooking.
BBQs are also welcome onsite, with fire pits for hire and firewood available to buy. Spend evenings toasting marshmallows and looking up at the Milky Way on a clear night.
Four-legged friends are also welcome, but the site ask if they can be on leads when there are sheep in the field next to the campsite, up to two allowed per pitch. Please note, the pitches by the river and the shepherd's huts are dog free.

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesMay 2025
I think this is the best kept campsite I have ever stayed at! Facilities were always clean (though only 1 other group staying at the time).
Kids loved playing in the river, climbing frame and sandpit, so much so that we barely saw them! Pitches mown into the grass worked nicely, and we really appreciated the shared tent space on the very wet day. Chris even very kindly allowed us to have our final night campfire under cover due to the rather persistent rain. We'll definitely be back.
The only slightly pricey element was the wood, at £10/bag (firepit hire £5/stay), but this isn't too bad as the pitch price is pretty reasonable.
Fabulous campsite

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass And Gravel Touring PitchesMay 2025
What a lovely place. Christian and his family have worked so hard to make the campers really welcome, with great facilities (especially the walk in wet room for my partner who has limited mobility). We had the place to ourselves the first night - so quiet and hearing the birds and the stream at the bottom of the site was just beautiful. We loved it. Thanks Christian - we will certainly come back.
