Small Tent - Wild Grass PitchesJul 2025

This is a wonderful campsite if you are looking for a spacious, quiet place to be. We valued the fact that we were allowed to choose our own pitch and that there are gaps of at least 50 metres between pitches! We had a beautiful spot next to the river, but there are many other nice areas to camp too. The facilities are not always sparkly clean, but perfectly fine and the showers are very nice and warm. There is only one tap with drinking water, so a big water container may be useful to bring. There is a huge variety of bird species and no annoying squirrels who try to eat through your tent. We had a lovely time and would love to come back someday!

Utterly beautiful

Small Tent - Wild Grass PitchesJul 2025

An absolute hidden gem. I want to say it was awful to keep it to myself; but it wasn't. It was the best wild camping I've ever been to. So much space - a choice of different areas: a small river with tyre and rope swings into slightly deeper bits for older kids: paddling areas for little or older ones. Paddle boards. Fire pits, but you pay for the logs. Dog friendly. Loved the quirky touches like the shower being a metal watering can - always hot water though 😀 Camped with my little dog in an apple orchard close to the river. I didn't leave the site for 3 days as was too busy exploring and playing in the river. About 10 miles from several different beaches - only one not dog friendly. Aldi, Kentucky and Maccy D about 10 minutes drive. Owners so friendly and helpful - over and above is an understatement. Multi generation families to students (who'd booked for the summer season and got p/t jobs in the cages by the beaches): middle aged with dog like me. All getting along, chatting and watching the sunset. I didn't want to come home 🏠. Tip - light the fire every night even if you're not using it to cook - smoke keeps the midges and other nippy insects away. Hey, I was by water in an apple orchard, what do you expect? I could have moved to the vast array of other places on the farm: but falling asleep to gently tickling water and waking to bird song meant I literally the fire and had a few nips. We will be back next year. me 'n' my dog - who loved being off lead and making new friends. He loved the beaches, especially those with rock pools when the tide went out. Finally - I have mobility and respiratory disabilities - they are well catered for with easy access to almost every beach. Bush Farm checked I was ok very subtly, every day. Stupendous place. How real camping should be. Thank you for my time there.

Motorhome - Wild Grass PitchesJul 2025

Exactly what it says on the tin, a no frills wild camp experience. Great if you are in a car or on a bike with a tent, ok if like us you are in a motorhome dependent on size. Tracks are agricultural so access in a large motor home with limited ground clearance could be a challenge but we managed it and found a great little spot in the orchard. Facilities are limited so be prepared for a back to basics experience.
