Dating all the way back the 50s, The Old Post Office Campsite is a well established base in the Lake District National Park, perfect for a getaway with family and pooch in tow. Perks include fully serviced pitches, well kept facilities and a tranquil river offering salmon and trout fishing. A great pub serving food is just a quick stagger away too.
This family run campsite is tucked into a quiet Cumbrian village and set beside the River Irt, with a selection of riverside pitches. Handy connections to a range of attractions too, with coastal Seascale and its beaches only a six mile drive away, and from there lots of good train connections to other towns. The Wasdale Valley (around five miles) is a gem for outdoor adventures and the challenge of Scafell Pike itself is only seven miles away. Pitches range from grassed spots with optional electric to your tent and a set of hardstanding pitches for tourers, either with electric or fully serviced with all the connections you need
