About the site
With the river gently flowing past and the Lake District countryside all around, this family run campsite offers a great base for days filled with adventure. Guests can even enjoy fishing for salmon and trout or take a refreshing wild swim. Just across the little bridge is a welcoming local pub, perfect for a tatsty meal after a day exploring. There are a range of spacious pitches to suit both tents and tourers. Traditional campers can opt for non electric grass pitches measuring around 5m x 4m, suitable for tents only. For those who prefer a few extra comforts, there are electric hardstanding and grass pitches with 16 amp hook ups. These vary in size, from 6.5m x 6m campervan pitches to larger 8m x 8m options suitable for trailer tents, campervans and motorhomes only. The fully serviced super pitches offer plenty of space at 9m x 6m, each equipped with 16 amp electric, fresh water and grey waste drainage. These are suitable for caravans, campervans and motorhomes. Wast Water and Wasdale are just ten minutes away, offering dramatic mountain views and lakeside walks. Drigg Beach is also close by (a 10 minute drive) for seaside days, and Scafell Pike, England's highest mountain, can be reached in around 20 minutes for epic hikes. In the evening, you are welcome to cook up a BBQ, just please ensure it is raised from the ground. Please note, open fires are not permitted. Dogs can join in the fun too, with up to three dogs allowed per pitch. With endless woodland, fell, and riverside trails nearby, there are plenty of places to explore with your pups!
