Nice backdrop

Stunning beautiful background and the area has no signal or wifi but for some network providers such as O2 there was. Nevertheless it was a nice place to detox from the city lifestyle

Stablefell Camping a gem in the Yorkshire Dales

Lovely campsite. Generous sized pitches set in wonderful scenery. Jo the owner was super helpful and welcoming. Close to Lake Semerwater and lots of info at the campsite for walks. We would come again.

Two campers on Beautiful Stablefell campsite for two nights

The situation of the campsite is just amazing with beautiful views in every direction and a choice of walks and footpaths from the campsite. It was great to have a fire. The shop is just right in what it offers, we appreciated the coffee in the morning and pizzas on Thursday evening, all served with a smile. Thank you!

Short stay

It was a short stay for two nights on the motorcycles But we really enjoyed the site for the beautiful country side surrounding the site and the entertainment of the wild life including the barn owls hunting for prey to feed their young The toilets/showers were imaculate and there was a shop selling sweets crisps and logs as well as a couple of other items

Short stay in a wonderful place

Our stay was a fantastic experience. My partner and I arrived with our young grandchildren, the welcome was warm and informative. The site is clean, well presented and in a stunning area. The views are spectacular. There was a lovely mix of young and ‘not as young’, with plenty of families. Everyone was respectful and friendly. The on site shop was really helpful as we had forgotten some essentials. The site owner put on pizza evenings and croissant mornings which was a lovely touch. There is plenty to see and do in the local area for all age groups. Definitely would recommend and we will return for more.

Great Short Stay

Super quiet and friendly site. Huge pitch and very peaceful

Secluded natural site with great views

Owner, Jo, is great, easy communication in booking and very helpful when you are on site. Long drive along narrow road to site but plenty of passing areas so no issue. Site has huge pitches segregated by long grass, so plenty of space for each tent, even if it's a big family tent, still room for games. Each pitch has its own fire pit, logs for sale on site, or bring your own. A basic site facility wise, but with lovely views up the valley. No Wi-Fi, good mobile signal. Jo opens a little barn shop which has a few snacks, but has a pizza oven cooking fresh pizzas plus coffee and croissants on a morning. Both have to be booked. Great spot for walkers or relaxed camping. Will definitely return for peace and quiet. Many thanks to Jo, was so nice to meet you and your husband. You made us feel so welcome throughout our stay.

Gorgeous campsite in a beautiful setting.

Stayed for 2 nights, and would definitely recommend. Lovely owners who were very helpful amd friendly. There are also resident goats, free ranging hens and a beautiful, friendly cat. I was there alone and felt very safe. You have an allocated pitch, all of which are large, level spaces. The shower and toilet facilities are kept very clean, and dont require a long trek to get to. There's a shop, and the owners do pizza and croissants to order. The setting is beautiful, and i watched an owl out hunting while i was there. Narrow roads to get to the site and i'd not take a car with a low profile either but otherwise fine. The only thing to be aware of is that there's no wifi and zero mobile reception there, at least if you're with EE. So once i was there, i had to drive back up the hill to let family know i'd arrived safely, then accept i'd have no access to the internet/texts as long as i was there.

Nice and quiet

We really like the peacefulness of this beautiful campsite. The views were excellent. The owner was very friendly. We chatted with her every day. And we loved the chickens and goats Connie and Bramble.

Excellent campsite

Excellent campsite with really nice pitches allocated with a view to privacy. Chickens wander around and there are a couple of goats too. There are no pubs nearby and the emphasis is definitely one of peace and quiet so possibly not the site if you have lots of boisterous kids in need of entertainment. The showers and loos are excellent and there is a freezer, a shop and at weekends stone baked pizzas. A lovely site for bird watching especially owls. Good nearby walks. Also there’s a fantastic lake very close by for open water swimming and SUPs.

Friendly, eaceful, beautiful campsite

We were greeted by the owner's parents who were most friendly and helpful. The pitches were very large, enabling us to pitch an eight man and pup tent with lots of room to spare. Our pitch was flat, well kept, and well drained. We discovered lots of walks with amazing views, some of which were on the site noticeboard. The site and the location did not disappoint. We will definitely go back again.

One of the best campsites I’ve been to

This was a great campsite. In a beautiful part of the dales. On a No through road, so very quiet. Maps of walks from the campsite are on show, at the little shop. We were helpfully emailed by Jo, a couple of days before our stay, to find out if we wanted to pre book homemade pizzas, (would recommend them!). The owners were very welcoming and helped out with suggestions of places to see. There were a group of college kids on the weekend which were placed in the bottom field, so they were no trouble at all. Facilities were kept clean at all times. Will definitely be returning to this campsite again

Stunning campsite

What a beautiful spot. Nestled in Marsett, the site lies in the valley with big skies, starry nights and campfires. Excellent location for walks, a trip into Hawes, Semerwater etc. The site is quiet and family friendly (minimal noise permitted after 9.30pm) so it's a super chilled vibe with a mix of ages and very family friendly. We went as two couples in our 30s and had a great time. The pitches are huge so you've got lots of space, the pizza night was great, showers are hot, clean facilities, and Jo and Mark are so friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be coming back!

The most amazing campsite I have ever been to

We stayed for two nights on this amazing campsite. The toilets and showers were spotless with enough toilet roll and soap. The upkeep of the site was exceptionally. Each pitch was huge with good space between other peoples tents. There is no phone signal so it was extremely relaxing. A campfire pit was on every plot which we enjoyed both days. Everyone was very respectful of noise and no noise after 9:30. There are chickens and goats on site which makes a nice addition. Jo was very welcoming and took her time to chat. It is now our favourite site.

Great campsite

A great campsite with great views, friendly owners and ideally situated to explore many interesting places. The only negatives were having a large group of teenagers opposite us doing their Duke of Edinburgh Award the second night. They were well behaved but woke up early as you would expect, around 6.30 ish to get ready for their adventure which woke us up. It also would have been great if the brilliant pizzas made at the campsite had been available for all guests on the second night not just for the above group of teenagers. If it hadn't been for these two things, I would have given the campsite 5 stars plus.

Carl Thank you for your comments. I would like to comment on this - the students who we believe should have an opportunity to complete a DofE were immaculately behaved. ALL other guests mentioned how quiet they was. This group has been to us before and we welcome this back. We offer pizzas 1 night a week on an AD HOC basis - Pizzas are not listed as a feature we do. We offer these - and you were emailed and text before you arrived to have pizzas Friday night. Nearly all our guests had pizzas Friday night and was offered - We always think of our guests here and make sure they are our priority and its very unfair you have written this.

August weekend away - good spot!

We had a good stay in the campsite. The place was fully booked, but when we arrived it didn't feel busy. The owners run a small 'shop' you can buy a pizza (evening - set hours) - but you have to pre order, which we didn't know in the first place. In the morning you can buy a coffee/tea (set hours) and pre order croissants. It will be great if the shop could offer some savoury snacks for evenings. The toilet facilities were clean and the owners clean them daily.

Wonderful peaceful site

Beautiful campsite in the heart of the Dales. Stunning views, peaceful, lovely big pitches with a campfire. Jo was so friendly and knowledgeable about the area, and seemed genuinely interested in your plans. Small onsite shop, lovely clean toilet/shower block. 2 freezers onsite to use. We really enjoyed our stay.

Stunning location, lovely people

Incredible, quiet location. 360 views of the dales, the owners are lovely and do everything they can to accommodate everyone. The facilities are lovely and clean, we ordered some of their homemade pizzas which were lovely, great local knowledge.

Long weekend

We stayed at Stablefell for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Would highly recommend it. We were well looked after and loved the firepits and pizzas!
