Motorhome - Electric Grass Touring PitchesMay 2025
Our first impression wasn't great as the postcode supplied takes you to a lane that's nothing to do with the site. As a first time motorhome driver, it was not ideal trying to reverse back to where we came from.
When I mentioned this at reception, the lady just laughed but I feel this needs to be addressed. We were then given pitch 6 or 7, as nobody was in either. When we got there, people were in both pitches. Had to phone reception and just find another pitch, so again, trying to manoeuvre a 7.5 foot long vehicle out of tight spaces was not ideal. Directions to the boathouse are non existent if you're on foot, we spoke to another couple when we got there who ended up lost in a wood trying to find it. No paths for walkers, just roads for cars.
Toilet facilities were ok. Shower was unmanageable as too powerful and water went everywhere so had a cold shower. Caravan next to us was broken as its wheels underneath were broken so not nice to look at.
Don't think we will be back.
Site's response
Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear your experience was not as expected, I will try to address the points as you have raised them.
If your Satnav is older or not updated and therefore is not reliable as a form of navigation we address this by giving written directions on our website. Due to our mountainous location, Satnav cannot always be relied upon so it is recommended that guests are aware of our whereabouts from a map.
We do allocate electric pitches so I am not sure why you found them occupied unless other customers were confused at to the pitch they were allocated. I agree this was an inconvenience and we will have a look at ensuring allocated pitches are emphasised to guests, please accept my apologies for this.
There are no dedicated footpaths or walkways around the park at Loch Tay which lead to the restaurant. However, there is signage at various points along the main drive directing customers to its location.
We will check out the issue you have reported regarding the shower and you will be pleased to know the broken caravan has now been removed - it was only there temporarily while we awaited assistance to move it.
I do hope you will reconsider returning to stay with us in the future now you know where we are :)
