Seven Acre Woods offers a quiet escape to a peaceful setting in the rural country within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The small, family-run site is open throughout the year, so you will be able to relax and enjoy the beauty of camping and glamping through the seasons. Located near the historic town of Battle, and just a 20 minute drive from the Sussex coast, it is a great location for fun for kids!

Why choose Seven Acre Woods

A quiet, peaceful rural site with scenic views and beautiful woodland walks

Family and dog friendly with all the facilities on site you would need

Plenty to do close by from beaches to historic towns to farm shops or shopping!

About the site

Escape to this peaceful campsite, nestled in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Battle. With a no-music policy that respects the harmony of nature, you and your fellow cabiners, glampers, and campers can fully enjoy the setting and outdoor life. Situated on the outskirts of the ancient Brede High Woods, a Woodland Trust site spanning 657 acres and surrounding the picturesque Powdermill Reservoir, you will be treated to stunning views and scenery. The site offers just six grass pitches for tents only with electric hook up and a fire pit. For something more comfortable, choose the Mole Hill Glamping Tent and the Mouse Nook Wooden Tent, which both sleep up to four. Both are in the small, quiet grass area with double beds, single futon style/day beds, electric, including a kettle and lighting and a fire pit. Or, the Badgers Burrow is off-grid for two, set in its own private and secluded area with a small double bed, solar lighting with a cute table and chairs and plenty of storage and a great outside area with a fire pit. All glamping units come with bedding, outdoor cooking facilities and all the equipment needed to cook, prepare and eat, including a cool box, outdoor table bench, chairs with table, fire-pit with grill and more. You may choose to cosy up with a book, have fun with board games from The Cubby, take a walk from the footpath through the Ancient Wood or simply relax and listen and watch the wildlife around you whilst relaxing around your fire pit with a cup of something delicious. If you're looking for a party atmosphere, this site is not for you. But if you want time away from the hustle and spend quality time with family and friends doing as much or as little as you wish, then you've come to the right place. The site welcomes all those who want time away (including your furry family members!) to experience the rustic yet real charm of outdoor life, who respect and appreciate the great outdoors! You'll find stunning woodland walks directly from your doorstep or canvas door via the public footpath that runs through Seven Acre Woods. These walks can take you around the Reservoir, to the Village or a loop around ancient history, taking in the wildlife and fauna known in these woodlands. Dogs are welcome, however, not in The Mole Hill.

"Appreciated the quiet, relaxed atmosphere"

A note from the site themselves...

Camping is what we have always loved to enjoy with family and friends, and we've had many a tent before we upgraded to a classic old motorhome for a little more 'luxury'!

We loved just to get up and go! Over the last few years of camping, we decided we wanted land, woodlands, and beautiful surroundings, and we wanted to run our own place for others to come camp, glamp and cabin!

Here is a place for relaxing, recharging, exploring and enjoying in an area where you can do so with ease and welcome the nature and beauty of where we are and what we have around us is top on the agenda.

From wild garlic and bluebells in the spring to the changing trees and bursting wild mushrooms throughout the seasons, along with sightings of deer, wild rabbits, pheasants, and kestrels, the natural beauty and wildlife are captivating here.

We live and work onsite at Seven Acre Woods... some 'work from home' but our 'home is work'! Incredibly proud we are of what our dream has become and trust too your stay here will too be a dream for you!

We hope to have thought of all you may need to create wonderful memories and to make your stay and experiences carefree, relaxing and enjoyable!

Glamping Pod - The Badgers Burrow HutSep 2025

Lovely setting, great private area with badgers burrow. Facilities were nice, and clean, although there was no hot water for our first shower. We thought, for the £90 per evening that we paid, things like toilet roll could be replaced/stocked up each day, rather than waiting for the guests to ask for it. Our camping gas was also empty on arrival, so that could have been checked before our arrival. The outdoor chairs had lots of bird poo on, which were easily cleaned off before our arrival, also. We would expect more practical cooking facilities, including more (and better quality) crockery. More soft furnishings within the hut, to give it a more cosy, welcoming feel.

Site's response

Hello there, Oh dear what a shame you didn't find to be well! It is the lowest rating we have had so is very disappointing to hear, so it must have been too for you! We can only apologise for initially no hot water - there was a fault which we easily rectified as soon as we were informed and there was hot water again within a couple hours. We don't regularly check the hot water as there is never normally an issue and an abundance of hot water, as there was on Friday, so again apologies for this inconvenience, but was out of our control until we knew. Again, with the toilet roll, if this runs out without us knowing then we are of course not to know, but we do clean and check the facilities every day and check for soap and toilet paper - so are sorry if you were left short before replacement, but again, if someone uses the last before we get a chance to replace then too, is out of our control. As with the gas, we always have replacements for guests as and when they need and the bird poo we are sorry if we obviously missed or it 'happened' after our cleans and checks so apologies for this. Lastly, we are sorry you were not keen on the crockery and wanted more soft furnishings, this of course is a personal preference which slighted your stay and are sorry for. We are not sure where we can try harder, but will try to check for bird poo closer to guest arrival times and although the crockery gets checked on every check-out, we are going to check more thoroughly on this occasion. The hot water and toilet roll can happen if we are not to know but we do remedy as quick as we are aware or informed. We are just sorry you were inconvenienced by such and from this that your stay was not as enjoyed as others generally do. Steve, Ruth & Harrison

Good place, but the main person didn't come out to help us when we needed it most, so we left early.
