VW-Type Campervan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding PitchesJun 2025

First time staying. This site is big and you get the enormity of it when you wander around. Site is right off the main trunk road , quite noisy until late at night. We were pitched opposite the bar, a land-rover enthusiast rally was being held at the site so a lot of people present, gave the little ones something to look at. Some considerate person after the bar had emptied decided to start their music at around 12pm one night for the campsite to hear. Arrived around 8pm and decided to have food from the bar rather than starting up Cadac to cook, £16.00 for portion of fish and chips, chips were frozen fries, however fish was tasty. I did hear lots of people complaining about the price. Also over heard someone say they did over 70 portions of fish and chips, good night for the site. Bar was packed. Site prices per night were reasonable and most items in the shop (well, the ones the children were interested in) were reasonably priced, didn't have a need for every day essentials, just toys. Staff were helpful and friendly, even though run off their feet. Facilities were plenty, play area for children, dog walk areas. Secure dog walk area is not secure, the gate is missing at the far end. Forest trail could do with being cut back as overgrowing in places. Fun times in the river for us, the children loved it. You cannot adjust shower temperature and I warn you that the water in the showers is hot - be aware if you have little ones, far too hot for their sensitive skins. No signs to say 'caution, hot water'. Washing up facilities outside, funnily enough, the water is not too hot. Not a family that has their faces in their phones or ipads all day, but as a heads up to others, site says WiFi, yes it's free in the bar but you have to pay for access anywhere else on site. This is not mentioned that I could see. Pitches for hard standing are reasonable size. What else can you say about this site? We try a different site each time we go away, would we return? After some discussion on our way home, although the grandchildren enjoyed themselves, and that's what the weekend was about we would not actively choose to return. We prefer a smaller quieter site that caters for children and dogs.

Motorhome - Fully Serviced Hardstanding PitchesMay 2025

Lovely site. Very welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. Relaxing stay. Only problem was the overnight roadworks, but that is no fault of the site or within their control.
