Pinecones Caravan and Camping is a family orientated, picturesque getaway in Dersingham, Norfolk - named the ninth nicest village in the UK by The Sunday Times. And it's just a hop from the sea! No wonder the royals live nearby at Sandringham. Happy campers love indulging in the modern and family-friendly facilities including the private bathrooms which are warm and clean, perfect for having your own space. There is even a fantastic onsite bar!

About the site

There is something for everyone at Pinecones! Everybody enjoys the break but Pinecones ensures that each customer is impressed by something. Staff aim to go out of their way to make everyone comfortable, and this can be proven upon your arrival! Get back to nature on Sandy Acres grass field with electric, or there are also fully serviced grass and hardstanding pitches too. A maximum of two dogs can join you on each pitch. Awnings are permitted on all of the Pine Views pitches. For those who are new to camping or prefer a bit of glamping style, Pinecones offers beautiful camping pods which have comfy sofas (these double as a bed), little stoves, extra camp beds and heating. They are accessible all year round. There are lots of fantastic walks/cycling routes leading from the site, with the Sandringham visitor centre only 20 minutes' walk away. Why not hire a bike from the site for a fun way to see even more! Children spend hours on the play equipment, making new friends and enjoying the open space. Teams playing football and various games can always be found laughing! The all weather bar and terrace is a great place to have a drink and a chat. You can even enjoy some live sports.

Facilities include individual modern shower rooms with a toilet, shower, hand basin, hooks, hand dryer, heated towel rail and a radio playing. There is also an indoor washing up area, a laundry room with a freezer, a warm dog wash, a dog water station, an off-lead dog walking area, EV charging points and free WiFi. Bike hire is available too.

In reception, you will find the site shop which sells ice creams (subject to availability), alcoholic drinks, sweets and a variety of essentials. Ben's Bar is licensed and dog friendly, offering draught beer, wines, hot and cold snacks, live sport and indoor or outdoor seating. An in-house takeaway also offers food during peak times (e.g. Fridays in summer).

For local pubs, The Coach and Horses and The Feathers Hotel are within a five minute drive. If you're in need of a larger supermarket, a Co-op and Spar are also within five minutes.

Motorhome - Small Fully Serviced Hardstanding Pitches (Pine Views)Sep 2025

Lovely stay. Loved the music playing in the toilet/showers! Pitch numbers could be clearer. We walked from the campsite through the woods to Sandringham, it only took about 30 mins to get there. The campsite is near a busy road, but our pitch was a bit further away so it didn't affect us.

Site rules

Yes, Pinecones Caravan and Camping is dog friendly, with a maximum of two dogs welcome to join you on each pitch, provided they are kept on a lead whilst onsite. A dog walking area allows them to be exercised off-lead and there are a number of walks suitable for your dog leading directly from the site too.
Self check-in at Pinecones Caravan and Camping is from 3pm until 9pm Monday to Saturday and from 1pm until 9pm on Sunday. Departure is due before 11am on your last day. Check-in packs can be found in the self check-in box outside reception. Please note that the site has a barrier at the entrance.
Campfires and fire pits are not allowed at Pinecones Caravan and Camping, unfortunately. Raised BBQs are allowed but must be extinguished once you have finished cooking.
At Pinecones Caravan and Camping, check-in at reception is available from 1pm until 5pm during summer and school holidays, from 1pm until 3pm otherwise. Self check in is from 3pm Monday to Saturday and from 1pm on Sunday. When you check out, just make sure you leave by the allocated time.
At Pinecones Caravan and Camping, you will only be able to book one pitch per booking.
Yes, Pinecones Caravan and Camping requests quiet between 11pm and 8am.

Gazebos are allowed free of charge at Pinecones Caravan and Camping. Awnings are also allowed on the Pine Views pitches. Pup tents are not permitted.

Things to do on site and in the Dersingham area

The campsite is very sociable and groups are often seen chatting at benches about experiences or catching up with other regulars.

With the area being a popular tourist attraction, there are many activities to do around and about. More details on this are available from the shop, where leaflets and helpful staff can be found.

Walkers enjoy the setting which is classed as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and beaches are never far away. A day by the nearby lake could possibly be followed by a visit to the local pubs, of which there is a selection and all have positive reviews.

Beaches, walks, visits to Sandringham House, Go Ape, Pensthorpe Nature Centre and The Sealife Centre are all popular attractions for customers.
