Stunning campsite, although just a field for tents the surroundings speak for themselves. The facilities including pizza oven and Sunday chilli as well as coffee shop, are fabulous. The toilets and showers were so clean and consistent hot water. Couldn’t fault it.

My husband and I arrived to this beautiful campsite after a scenic drive through the Yorkshire Dales. The campsite itself is set in a lovely bit of land, which offers big, spacious pitches. Our van and tent fitted on 1 pitch and there was room for more! Some of the pitches had 3 families staying on them, I liked that you could all be together. Perfect for a family/friend get together. The hosts were really friendly and lovely to chat to, Jo made us feel like a friend. The site itself was perfect for a 4 night get away. They offered freshly made pizza/chili and croissants for breakfast all cooked to order (perfect for packing up day!) The barn/shop stocked a variety of essentials and it was open on a regular basis. The toilets and showers were modern, clean and had hot water. They had plenty of space too. There were facilities to wash up and get fresh drinking water, plus cleaning products supplied. There was an area where goats lived and there was chickens wandering about and plenty of space for children to play. The gem of this campsite is that it is almost off grid. There was barely any reception and so we electronically shut down for 4 nights. It was pure bliss. The views were out of this world stunning and it reminded me of how green and beautiful Yorkshire is! We went on several walks and barely saw another sole. The nearest pub was a good 1 1/2 hour walk and there wasn't any shops close by, which to us was a perfect camp. You could get to the shops by car but why would you need to?! Bang in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales, this campsite wins for us and shouts traditional camping at its best, time to drop those shoulders and unwind. With fire pits supplied and plenty of wood to buy onsite we enjoyed the clear nights sky in comfort and warmth. We will be returning without a doubt.

This campsite is superb. A little out of the way for some, but it's in a stunning location. Jo is really friendly and runs a fabulous site. Have to be prepared for Dales weather! We arrived in glorious sunshine and then had solid rain for 24hrs, but all adds to the fun. The washing facilities are outstanding, plenty of hot water and a great place to do the washing up after meals. You can even have a good old natter to the chickens that like to sit in there!! Would highly recommend, we're just searching dates to stay again but for longer this time.

Fantastic little campsite. Facilities are excellent and optional extras like home made pizza, croissant on a morning, fire wood and furniture were a real plus. Campsite owners were friendly attentive. Surrounding area was beautiful and we made good use of the published walking routes.

Lovely quiet site in Marsett at farm at end of valley near Bainbridge. Large pitches each with fireplace. Good and very clean facilities. Amazing birdlife and could listen to calls of geese, curlews, lapwings, owls, etc. Also saw hares. Close to Wensleydale and Swaledale. Would definitely recommend.

This is a great campsite close to Hawes Village and Aysgarth Falls and just down the road from a lake with water sports. There is easy access to various historic/market towns and lovely walks. The hosts are very welcoming, the on-site facilities are excellent with very clean showers and toilets. Nearly all visitors during my stay bought logs for the fire-pits so it was very welcoming at night. It is a quiet and peaceful camp, although at the same time had a complete mix of families with children, dogs, solo travellers and couples. Highly recommend.

We felt very welcome in this well-kept site: the surroundings felt as remote and peaceful as possible in England. Jo and Marc were excellent hosts, making us feel welcome and cared for from the word go. All the facilities were very clean, and the location is superb. We felt the peace of the area, especially on the weekdays when there were only a few other campers present. Appreciated the info on local walks, with very helpful maps, as well as locations further away. Having the possibility of croissants for breakfast and pizza for evening meals some days, was very special. We knew there would be no phone signal before we came, so we were able to adapt easily, and it made the holiday better. Thank you, Stablefell Campsite!!

We were new to camping and the Stablefell campsite couldn’t have been more perfect. Jo and her partner were warm and friendly hosts. The toilet/showers are clean and tidy and the outside washing up area as well. Their shop is full of essentials where we bought wood and kindling, coffees and pizzas for the Saturday which were delicious! The chickens and goats near the site are adorable and each tent pitch area is very spacious so there is plenty of room between each tent. We had a wonderful experience and would love to return in the future. There is a lovely walk to Semer Water lake from the campsite and we visited Aysgarth Falls and Hawes during our stay which are not far in the car. Thank you!!

I had a lovely stay at Stablefell Campsite. I loved the quiet and beautiful surroundings. The campsite is remote and tucked away in a beautiful part of the Yorkshire Dales, within a few hours after my arrival, I was able to let go of daily life thoughts. This was a solo trip and I spent the evenings just staring at the hills, the trees and listening to the sounds of birds, sheep, cows and horses. Really relaxing. Nice walks in the area, beautiful waterfalls to visit and Hawes is a lovely little town close by. The campsite is clean with spacious pitches and the other guests were really friendly. The hosts are very kind and helpful . I will definitely come back for a longer stay.

Pitches are a great size with plenty of room to spread out around the fire pit if you wish. The facilities are modern and kept very clean. The highlight is the surrounding views, which are fantastic. It a lovely basic campsite, somewhat remote and is perfect for chilling out and enjoying the beauty of the dales. They also run a pizza night and croissant and coffee breakfast, both are great, but the croissants are warm and should absolutely not be missed! You are very close to the pretty village of Hawes, as well as Aysgarth Falls and just a half hour drive from the Forbidden Corner.

This is one of those reviews where you want to tell everyone how fantastic it was staying here, but also don't want anyone else to go because you want it all to yourself! The site was so lovely, we had a fantastic time getting away from it all. The owners were so helpful and informative about the site and surrounding areas, we will definitely be returning here.

Joan was a great host. Even had to play nurse and get me and ambulance for a pre existing issue. She kept checking in on me when I didn't get back. I have family in larger surrounding area so used as base camp some days. Great amenities, nice patches with own fire and ample wood available. Right tucked out the way, so bring your walking boots as you will need them and plenty of wet weather gear as the weather is unpredictable around these parts. If you want to daily shop etc I'd say a vehicle is a must, however 3.5 mile along road is a wee village Bainsbridge with a cafe for day eating and bar/hotel for dinner and a pint. Tell them scotch fella by name jai ( j-eye ) said hello! Connecting buses to Hawes and other areas is situated here. 156 for the wee white bus. Selective time table on some villages and you need booking a day ahead but it opens up the dales to you. Now if trekking in IMPORTANT... only one bus and train combination gets you here. Google is misleading! Garsdale is the only stop on the Carlyle or Leeds line. You can get connection via bus (I was £100 on the way in on a taxi) and limited times so plan well and double check each day. It's still easy enough. Ideal for peace and quiet and outdoor kids who like to adventure as plenty small to medium walks and wildlife to be seen.
Amazing and perfect!

Wonderful, just wonderful! Beautiful, 360° views, large pitch, super well organised, lovely toilets, and shower facilities, wonderfully helpful and lovely hosts. This is now our favourite campsite! It was brilliant not to be crammed in but to have our own large pitch for the children to run around and play football. The shop is stocked with goods that you may find you need and is reasonably priced. The home-made pizzas on offer absolutely delicious and super value for money. It's lovely to see the animals which consist of horses, goats, chickens, etc. Wonderful walks on the doorstep where you can explore hidden gems, and also see nature at its best. We saw cows, sheep, lambs, red squirrels, birds of prey, hares etc. It was really good to be Internet and phone free for a while! For those who really need it…. You won't have to travel too far to login. My son has a nut allergy and both Jo and Marc were absolutely wonderful checking ingredients for the pizzas, and being on hand at any time, if we did experience an emergency. Cannot recommend this site enough. Nothing is too much trouble. I did read one bad review before I wrote this and can honestly say that I think the person who wrote that review was talking about somewhere completely different. Sometimes the little things make a big impact, which they have done, such as having washing up liquid at the sinks and a hairdryer in the shower room. This has made things just a little bit more stress free and comfortable. This is a very quiet site (as in noise levels are low) and even at full capacity would not be overcrowded at all and still super pleasant to stay there. The site is blessed with beautiful countryside and also dark skies which are super stunning. The shop also sells firewood and marshmallows for the campfires that are on every pitch. We will definitely be back in the very near future! This will definitely be a regular haunt for us.

Good contact with the owners, felt looked after. Clean and friendly environment , whether spending time on the pitch or to go and look around. Lots to see about and this was also the perfect place to start daily trips to other attractions - most in 20 a mile range. Four nights was like a beginning and it went so fast. Definitely to go back again. Many thanks to the owners Marc and Jo. A&K.

Fab stay over the bank holiday weekend at Stablefell. This is a lovely site, well kept and well run by Marc and Jo, who work hard to make you feel welcome and provide an excellent service. Pitches are a good size, meaning the site doesn't feel overwhelmed even when fully booked. The location is very scenic, tucked away in a quiet corner of the Dales. There is even on-site catering with home made pizzas, which are delicious! Will definitely return.

This site is amazing! The shower block is so clean and feels like you are walking into a hotel bathroom. Pitches are large so you have privacy. The views are 360 and absolutely spectacular. We would highly recommend this site to get away from the hustle and bustle and have some chill time, Jo was so lovely and helpful.
