About the site

This site offers the ideal base for families or couples seeking a beachside escape. A five minute stroll brings you to Machroes Beach for paddleboarding, kayaking, or simply relaxing with a cafe for a light lunch or refreshing drink. Wander another ten minutes along the coast, and you'll reach the sands of Treath Abersoch. There is a range of grass pitches and fully serviced seasonal hardstanding pitches with a 10 amp hook up, for tents, caravans, motorhomes, and campervans. Day trips can be spent in Pwllheli (20 minutes) or for coastal walks try the Welsh Coast Path or visit to Glasfryn Parc, where fishing, wakeboarding, archery and more activities are available. Llyn AONB is 25 minutes away, and Snowdonia National Park (Eryri) is 45 minutes away for hiking adventures. Dogs are welcome to join your stay. BBQs are allowed as long as they are raised off the ground.

The laundry area has two washing machines and two dryers for a small fee, as well as a communal microwave, toaster, and kettle. Free WiFi is available throughout the site, and there are two EV chargers for guests to use.

The site features an onsite office and shop open from 9am until 6pm (times may vary), stocked with a few essentials.

For additional supplies, there is a Spar, a 20 minute walk away. Mickey's Beach Cafe is a ten minute walk from the site, and The Siop y Pentre Caffi a Bar is a 20 minute walk away. St Tudwals Inn is 25 minutes away on foot, serving food and drinks.

A note from the site themselves...

The site has been part of your hosts life for 54 years. Initially, as visitors and campers, they have been brought up visiting the campsite that is now Tonnau'r Môr, raised their own children and now grandchildren on holidays at this amazing location.

It allows children a sense of freedom amongst the community that spend their summers here, whilst giving them a sense of adventure and an outdoor lifestyle with easy access to beaches, walks and a whole range of activities.

The beach is right on your doorstep here, just a five minute stroll, perfect for kayaking, paddleboarding, swimming, fishing, wakeboarding, sailing, windsurfing, windfoiling and spotting local sealife, including dolphins! For golden sands, Traeth Porth Ceiriad is a five minute drive away, and LLanbedrog Beach is 15 minutes away by car.

Golf lovers are a ten minute walk from Abersoch Golf Club, and history enthusiasts can explore nearby landmarks such as Llanengan Hillfort (10 minutes), Trwyn Cilan (10 minutes) and Foel Fawr (15 minutes). Castell Cricieth is 40 minutes away with its twin-towered gatehouse and panoramic views.

For scenic walks, the National Trust's Plas yn Rhiw is 25 minutes from the site, offering formal gardens overlooking the bay.
