About Elmley Nature Reserve

Get lost in a beautiful marsh landscape and huge atmospheric skies, or just get away from it all in Kent's natural beauty. Guests can enjoy long, quiet walks across the rugged countryside from this calming spot. Elmley is a family-run farm with approximately 700 cattle grazing the pasture each year, in harmony with an incredible habitat for wildlife. The reserve maintains a powerful green ethos, using plenty of solar energy and natural materials. Guests can choose between a range of quirky glamping accommodation, from romantic shepherd's huts that sleep two, to quirky cabins for young families and a cottage ideal for large groups. Each of the cosy huts has something that makes it unique, from Vanellus' lovely firepit to The Damson's luxurious outdoor tub or The Saltbox's incredible windowed side. In the rustic shepherd's huts there's a sense of enduring charm, hearty woodburning stoves, spacious real beds and views to take your breath away. The reserve includes luxury treatment options where you can receive wonderful massages or relaxing pampering, right here where you are glamping.

Just 15 minutes away in the car is the Isle of Sheppey, which is covered with Blue Flag beaches. A couple of the best are Minster Leas with its colourful beach huts and Shellness, an incredible stretch of shelly beach which runs onto the Swale National Nature Reserve.

Whistable, 25 mins away is justifiably famous for its oysters and has a great seafront, cute shops and a peaceful vibe. Margate, a little further, has pretty cobbled streets or, if you fancy a thrill, the incredible rollercoasters at Dreamland. Plenty of Kent's most popular attractions are in very easy reach from this lovely space.

Other must-sees include:

  • The Kent Downs and North Downs Way
  • Leeds Castle
  • Canterbury Cathedral
