A surfer's paradise, Camp at The Wave is located in the field alongside the world-class surfing lake, around 25 minutes outside of Bristol. Tents, roof tents and campervans are welcome across non electric pitches. There are a range of bookable surfing sessions and lessons available, plus a cafe/bar, surfing shop, play park, skate ramp, equipment hire, table tennis, volleyball, boules and fun-filled events throughout the year!

About the site


Set beside one of the UK's leading inland surfing destinations, the site offers a great base for anyone keen to get out on the water. Around 25 minutes from Bristol, there are bookable surf sessions and lessons for all abilities, from complete beginners to experienced surfers. Spacious non electric grass pitches measure 10m x 7m, providing plenty of room for tents, roof tents and campervans. The relaxed camping field is just a short 200m walk from the impressive surfing lake and main clubhouse. For glamping, the bell tents sleep two and come ready with twin beds and bedding already set up, so you can arrive and settle straight in. Shared facilities are close by, and guests simply need to bring towels and any cooking equipment they would like to use. The site is also home to a safari tent village, offering another glamping option. There's plenty to enjoy away from the waves too. The cafe and bar serves everything from breakfast and brunch to burgers and evening meals, while the surf shop stocks wetsuits, boards, accessories and clothing. Guests can also make use of the equipment hire, changing rooms, table tennis, volleyball, boules, a skate ramp, children's play park and outdoor seating areas. Throughout the year, regular events such as yoga sessions, live music and family activities add to the fun! If you're looking to explore further, the Bristol Zoo Project is only ten minutes away, while Bristol is around a 25 minute drive with its harbourside, independent shops, museums and restaurants. Easter Compton Farm Shop and Café is also within a 20 minute walk for local produce and groceries. Please note that this is a pet free site, so dogs cannot stay. Open fires, fire pits and BBQs are not permitted anywhere on site.

Campsite facilities include toilets and showers. The surfing lake is also 200m from the camping field, with bookable surf sessions and surf hire available.

There is a cafe and bar that serves throughout the day, including breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, burger and kids' menus, with access to free WiFi. A shop sells fins, leashes, wetsuits, accessories, clothes and more. Other facilities include a play park, outdoor seating areas, skate ramp, equipment hire, changing rooms, table tennis, volleyball, boules, garden games, surfboard repair and winter saunas.

EV charging is available in the main car park. Throughout the year, The Wave hosts a series of events and sessions, including pilates, yoga, demo days and live music. Easter Compton Farm Shop and Cafe is also a 20 minute walk away for local produce and groceries.

The campsite is centred around one of the UK's most exciting inland surfing destinations. Whether you're catching your very first wave or looking to improve your technique, the park is designed to help visitors of all ages and abilities.

The impressive 180m surfing lake has advanced wave technology that creates consistent, high-quality waves throughout the day. Producing up to 1,000 waves every hour, the lake offers a wide range of wave sizes suitable for complete beginners through to experienced surfers.

Away from the surf lake, there are more ways to stay active. Challenge friends or family to a game of volleyball, enjoy a few tricks on the small skate ramp, or let younger visitors burn off energy in the children's play park.

Just ten minutes away, the Bristol Zoo Project offers a fantastic day out for animal lovers. Set within natural habitats, visitors can discover a wide variety of animals while learning about wildlife conservation.

The city of Bristol is only 25 minutes from the campsite. Explore the bustling Harbourside with its waterside cafés and restaurants, browse independent shops in Clifton and Stokes Croft, or visit world-class museums and galleries.
