About Happy Jakes Touring Park

Expect a warm welcome at this relaxed Welsh park. Located 30 minutes outside of Cardiff, the site benefits from being within easy reach of attractions and the coast, whilst nestled in the peaceful countryside. Pitches here are suitable for tents, trailer tents, motorhomes and touring caravans. Tents are in the level centre of the park on open pitches, with the remainder pitched around the park's edge on exceptionally large grass pitches with optional 16 amp electric. Evenings can also be spent cooking up a BBQ, as long as it is raised from the ground. Please note, campfires are prohibited. Up to two dogs are welcome per pitch, and there is also a dog walking area available onsite too.

Happy Jakes Touring Park is open from 28/03 to 26/10.

A note from the site themselves...

We as parents have directly experienced the way a disabled person can be invigorated by the countryside from our own son, Jake, who has enjoyed many adventures in our campervan. It is with this in mind that we have taken particular consideration to the facilities we offer and their ability to be used by those who are able and those who are less able.

Our site has the mantra, feel the grass between your toes. We want guests to come and enjoy our wonderful part of South Wales and truly just enjoy the outdoors! Mandy, Mark and Jake

VW-Type Campervan - Grass Tent/Campervan Pitches (Optional Electric)Apr 2024

Lovely site. Owner was friendly and helpful when we struggled to find our pitch. There was a map but we hadn't looked it properly, at a second glance it was quite simple. The site was clean and tidy, water available close to our pitch. The toilets and showers were clean and tidy though we didn't use the shower as were heading home. Lovely walks around the area and not to far from the beaches. Definitely on my list to return if we are in the area again.

Small Tent - Grass Tent/Campervan Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2023

Very clean, lovely place to stay. The owner was so welcoming and the campsite was set out perfectly. Our first holiday with our 1 year old couldn't have gone any better. We will definitely be returning maybe to stay in a pod next time for longer.

There's so much to see on this part of coast! After the ruins and stepping stones of twelfth century Ogmore Castle (20 minutes), follow the pathway to the village of Merthyr Mawr backed by a maze of spectacular sand dunes, over 300 species of flower and the Big Dipper, the biggest sand dune in Europe - and bring a sledge (really).
