Get away from it all at Caalm Camp, where you'll find six beautiful yurts on a secluded boutique campsite in Dorset. Just an hour from the Jurassic Coast, there are all your home comforts: a private wet room, a shared fitted kitchen and a spacious lounge. The yurts have comfy beds, electricity and a toasty wood-burning stove. Families, couples and parties are all welcome and the yurts are fully accessible for wheelchair users.

About Caalm Camp

Caalm Camp is a small family-run yurt campsite, situated on a former dairy farm in North Dorset. Enjoy looking up at the stars in traditional hand-painted Mongolian yurts (which sleep up to six people), or toast marshmallows round the fire pit, while still keeping your home comforts. Situated near the ancient hilltop town of Shaftesbury and about two hours from London or an hour from Bournemouth and Weymouth, the yurts are in reach of everything you want to see. They are spaced well apart in a landscaped paddock, each with their own barbecue and picnic area. They are ideal all year round because the yurts are built to withstand the coldest winters. Inside they are extremely cosy, each one heated with the enveloping warmth of a wood-burning stove. Free wood is supplied for the whole duration of your stay. Inside your new home you'll find proper beds made up with fresh white linen sheets and electricity points. All ages are welcome from newborn babies to great great grannies - and all sizes of party. Whether you are looking for a quiet romantic getaway, celebrating a wedding or organising a family reunion, this is the perfect place. Children can say hello to the farm's sheep, goats and chickens, and can roam safely as the whole site is securely fenced. Caalm Camp is level and well-lit, and there is ramped access to the yurts along with specially adapted wetrooms, so the site is a perfect choice for disabled guests. In fact, it has been listed in The Guardian as being one of the UK's top 10 wheelchair accessible cabins, lodges and cottages. For those who prefer it, there is also a holiday cottage available.

Campfires are to be attended at all times and must be kept small and manageable, using only the firewood provided.

Parents and guardians are expected to supervise their children at all times.

Caalm Camp is near the hilltop town of Shaftesbury, where Gold Hill was made famous in the Hovis advert. Other charming Dorset towns such as Sherborne and Gillingham are also within easy reach.

Longleat Safari Park, with its famous lions and maze, is just over half an hour away.

Enjoy a day at the beach along the Jurassic Coast, with Weymouth, Bournemouth, Bridport, Lulworth, Swanage and Chesil Beach all within an hour's drive.

Dorset is fast becoming a foodie destination - with lots of great local tea rooms, pubs, and restaurants headed up by top chefs, as well as farm shops, farmer's markets and delis stocking local produce you can be sure to enjoy (and take home) plenty of delicious local food.

Local fairs, fetes and festivals fill the calendar throughout the spring and summer, before carnival season arrives at the end of August. The traditional West Country carnival processions through the towns of Shaftesbury, Gillingham and Sturminster Newton are a unique and spectacular sight. Some of the bigger fairs and events include The Great Dorset Steam Fair, The Royal Bath and West Show, Stock Gaylard Oak Fair and the Sturminster Newton Cheese Festival.

Fishing, horse riding and golf are all available locally. Duncliffe Wood is a fabulous local walk, especially in April when the bluebells are out.

Back at the camp, you can relax in a deck chair, meet the animals, play a game of table tennis or pool, or toast marshmallows while you watch the sun go down at the fire pit.

if you don't feel like cooking, the site has a regular home-made pizza night, or you can wander up to The Kings Arms in East Stour for delicious, locally sourced lunches and evening meals 365 days a year!

For ultimate relaxation, you can even enjoy an aromatherapy massage, reiki or reflexology offered by Firestar Therapies.
