About Wigwam Holidays Builth Wells
Within less than two hours of buzzing Cardiff and vibrant Birmingham, this site is tucked into an idyllic part of rural Mid Wales. You're surrounded by green landscapes and gently grazing sheep - yet still in easy driving distance of local towns. Looking out over the peaceful lakeshore are six heated Wigwam pods, each fully furnished and offering the luxury of an en-suite toilet and shower. These sleep four on a double bed and comfy sofa bed. They also each have a kitchenette with a kettle, electric hob, microwave, fridge toaster and toastie maker, alongside utensils and other essentials. There's also a dining table and chairs so that you can eat in comfort and a flat screen TV with Freeview so that you needn't miss out on your favourite show. Outside you can relax around the fire pit and there's a picnic table. You can even book a Wigwam with a luxurious wood fired hot tub outside! In front of the cosy pods is a lovely open space allowing children to play freely, with plenty of space. A max of two dogs are welcome to join you in pet friendly Wigwams. Groups are welcome provided that they book the entire site for their exclusive use.
Wigwam Holidays Builth Wells is open all year round.
Kitchen, WC and shower facilities are self contained within the en-suite pods. Free WiFi is supplied and a baby bath can be supplied by the owners on request. Kayak hire is also available along with buoyancy aids for safety. Fire wood is available for purchase too.
Pubs and restaurants can be found within three miles and Co-ops can be found in Builth Wells or Hay-on-Wye (20 minutes). Larger supermarkets are within a 30 minute drive. Builth Wells also offers The Cwtch Cafe for coffee and sweet treats, along with lots of tasty takeaways.

Great communication with site owners due to late arrival. Useful instructions prior. Arrived at dark and the pod was labelled to welcome us and lit for ease of access. Bed was made, which was greatly appreciated after our commute and wanting to settle the children. Cosy and warm on arrival too. Ample amenities. Lovely lake view which you can enjoy from bed with a cuppa. Lovely local hikes, views, kite feeding and villages nearby. Thank you.

Where do I start? We were greeted on arrival by Emma and her beautiful smile. Her warmth left us immediately at ease, her directions were perfect. The pod was amazing, it was warm, immaculately clean and very inviting. The view was astonishing from the front porch and the only sound was the stream nearby. It was perfect, just what we were looking for. Emma popped in with some walking leaflets following our previous chat! There was a bucket of logs so we did the natural thing and got a fire pit going, it was the perfect end to a perfect start. The location was so quiet, and the perfectly equipped kitchen sorted us out with the gorgeous Welsh coffee made in the provided French press. Breakfast made, we started our trip walking. The whole weekend was perfect. I wish I had opted for the hot tub to be ignited but lesson learned for next time. I would be insane not to return here, it is idyllic, both in setting and the warmth of the hosts. Thank you Emma, Stephen had the best birthday weekend. We will be back for sure xx

I did not realise there was a birthday celebration but I am pleased to have been a small part of a lovely birthday weekend. We really are lucky to be able to share this space with others. We look forward to having you with us again. The door to our drying room went in this weekend so by next year, out drying room will be up and running and accessible for guests. Things to do on site and in the Builth Wells area
A charming trail from site will take you for an amble through National Trust land and towards a historic stone circle. Begwyns is a summit for those who want a modest challenge and big rewards (accessed via a footpath from site).
Alternatively, pop in the car and find great outdoorsy activities in the Brecon Beacons, where biking, hiking and horse riding are all on the cards. If you're in for a challenge, make for the Wye Valley Walk which winds over more than 130 miles and takes in some fabulous countryside, accessed close by.
For something truly quirky, the World Bog Snorkelling Championships in August are sure to be something you've never seen before, or you might see a new side of rural life at The Royal Welsh Show and tempt your ears with the Brecon Jazz Festival.
