About the site
This family and dog friendly site sits on the edge of the Peak District National Park, just a 15 minute walk from Buxton. Surrounded by countryside, the park enjoys views of a wooded limestone gorge and an old railway viaduct. Tents can choose from a range of non electric grass pitches, including smaller 2m x 2m backpacker pitches and larger 7m x 5m family pitches. For those wanting a few extra comforts, there are also electric 7m x 5m grass pitches with 16 amp hook ups. For campervans, there is a non electric pitch, or opt for one of the electric hardstanding pitches for campervans and motorhomes up to 7m. There are also hardstanding pitches for caravans and motorhomes up to 8m. Guests looking for a glamping break can stay in one of the cosy camping pods. These insulated pods include a double bed, a small double futon bed for children, heating, a fridge, USB sockets and an outdoor picnic bench, with shared facilities nearby. Please be sure to bring your own bedding. Buxton is within easy walking distance and is full of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. There are also plenty of attractions nearby, including Poole's Cavern, Go Ape Buxton and the beautiful Pavilion Gardens, all within a five minute drive. For bigger days out, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are both within 30 minutes too. There is plenty to keep everyone entertained onsite too. Guests can enjoy a games room with a pool table and TV, a play park for children and even a book swap inside a red telephone box. An onsite shop sells camping essentials, snacks, toys and more, while Dukes Drive Farm Shop is right next door. Dogs are very welcome, with a large dog exercise field giving four legged friends plenty of space to stretch their legs. Up to two dogs are allowed per pitch, although the camping pods are pet free. Charcoal BBQs are welcome, provided they are raised off the ground. Please note, open fires are not permitted.
