About the site
Located in South West Cornwall, this family friendly campsite has everything you need for a great traditional camping experience. Situated only five minutes from Gwithian Beach, a surfer's paradise, and 20 minutes from St Ives, you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to coastal spots!
The site is home to a total of 41 grass pitches, all measuring 8m x 8m and allowing up to five guests. Tents, motorhomes and campervans are all welcome, with an electric grass pitch set aside for motorhomes too.
Half of the pitches come with the benefit of their own 10 amp electric hook up, great for those still wanting to bring along their essential appliances like kettles and phone chargers.
If you would rather leave the tent at home, opt for a stay in one of the cosy camping pods or shepherd's huts. The three barrel-shaped pods (Jade, Jasmin and Indy) can sleep up to two guests with a raised sleeping level and double mattress (accessed by a small step ladder). Bench seating and electric are also inside, with an outdoor picnic table for dining.
Each of the shepherd's huts can sleep up to four with a double bed behind a curtain and two single futon beds. You will have a small dining table and chairs, plus electric and a picnic table.
All glamping guests will need to bring along their own bedding, bed linen and cooking equipment. Shared campsite facilities can also be found nearby.
The site provides fire pit hire for those chilly evenings, along with all of the supplies you will need. You can also bring along your own BBQ (just please ensure it is raised from the ground), and don't forget to try one of the delicious homemade cakes available to buy onsite too!
Up to three dogs are welcome per pitch, but not in the provided accommodation, sorry.
Do note, the fields around the site are home to a large amount of solar panels.

A note from the site themselves...
Our campsite first opened in 2018 as a very basic site, with no water, electric or washing facilities and has developed from there to what we have today. We are both Cornish born and bred and have lived in Penwith all of our life. We are proud of our heritage and passionate about the area in which we are so lucky to live and love sharing our knowledge of the area with our guests.
Our overall aim is to continue to provide a quiet, clean, basic site with spacious pitches, which is affordable for all and a place where all of our guests have a peaceful and enjoyable stay and will recommend us to their families and friends and wish to return in the future.
Stayed for one night in a small tent, however pitches were a decent size to accommodate larger tents.
Good clean facilities and friendly, helpful onsite warden..
Would definitely stay here again.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesJun 2025
This is a very good campsite.
We were given a welcome pack and given all the information in a friendly way on arrival. The campsite is well maintained with goodish facilities e.g. warm showers, loos and washing up area. As well as glamping etc.
We were told clearly "dogs on lead only" which is usual, but there is no where to walk the dog - nearest village is approx one and a half miles away on narrow country lanes. Our dog a Border Collie puppy was happily playing/retrieving a ball (completely under control) with two little girls next to us and the owner came out to say there were "no exceptions" to the lead rule. Maybe this is because of insurance or owner is anxious?
Site's response
Thank you for taking the time to write a review, it is much appreciated. We are glad that you found us friendly and the campsite well maintained.
Thank you for acknowledging that we did ask you to keep your lovely border collie on a lead. We do this at check in for everyone with dogs and at confirmation of booking.
Please be assured that it is in no way because we only tolerate dogs or that I am anxious. It is for the comfort of all guests on site, those with and without dogs. We fully appreciate that your collie puppy was under control, but we had around 15 dogs on site at the time of your booking and if one dog is seen off the lead, it is then seen as as acceptable by all other dog owners to do likewise, which then creates a problem. Therefore for equality we tell everyone.
We do not advertise as having an exercise area for dogs, but the campsite stretches over 4 acres and you are very welcome to walk your dog on a lead around the field. The welcome pack also gives information on beaches and places that allow dogs at this time of year, where you can allow them off a lead and throw a ball for them.
There is also a lane which runs down the side of our field into Gwithian and another into the village which is 0.7 of a mile from the site. Itβs such a shame that you didnβt come to the office as we could have made you aware of places to walk your dog and we also have treats in the office for our canine and feline visitors.
Once again thank you for staying with us. We hope that you will visit us again in the future, but completely understand if our site does not meet your needs
Jayne and Mike.
