Sitting just 12 miles north of Penzance in the northern part of the Lizard Peninsula, Helston is a great base to explore all that Cornwall has to offer. There is no shortage of fantastic places to explore, and several amazing beaches which are just a short drive from the town.
A short drive to the south is the beautiful Mawgan Porth Beach, which is popular with tourists and families alike due to it picturesque setting. Watersports enthusiasts are well catered for at Portleven Beach, with world-renowned waves making it the perfect location for surfers.
Don't miss a visit to the interesting Helston Museum which is a treasure-trove of local Cornish history and has even been recently shortlisted in the Cornish Tourism Awards. The nearby Four Crows Gallery is also well worth a visit and regularly exhibits local artists with a maritime theme.
The medieval Godolphin estate and its stunning historic gardens are some of the most important in the whole of Europe due to their diverse archaeology and wildlife.
