About the site

This family friendly site sits in the rolling South Hams countryside, only a ten minute drive from the edge of Dartmoor National Park. For days out, Paignton Zoo Environmental Park, Pennywell Farm and Totnes Castle are also within 20 minutes! For tent campers, there are 3m x 4m grass pitches, with the option of 16 amp electric and parking just a short walk away. Campervans can pitch up on hardstanding, also with the option of an electric hook up. If you want to go glamping, there are cosy camping cabins. The cabins sleep up to five with a king size bed, bunk beds and optional single mattress. To add to your stay, they also include heating, lighting, bedding and towels, along with seating and practical touches like a kettle, cool box, crockery and BBQ utensils. The bell tents offer a more traditional glamping experience, set on wooden platforms. Inside, each tent features a king size bed, two single futon beds and an optional single mattress, along with soft furnishings and a wood burner for cooler evenings. Guests should bring or hire bedding and towels. At the heart of the site is a communal barn, a shared space where guests can unwind whatever the weather. With underfloor heating, seating areas and games such as table tennis and table football, it's a great place to relax, meet others or keep children entertained. Onsite sauna and cold plunge sessions are also available for an additional charge. The surrounding area is full of places to explore. Totnes is just ten minutes away, known for its independent shops, riverside walks and historic castle. The nearby coastline (25 minutes) also provides sandy beaches, traditional seaside attractions and sheltered coves such as Blackpool Sands (30 minutes). Dogs are welcome across the campsite, with up to two permitted per pitch or glamping unit, making it easy for four-legged companions to join the holiday. Open fires are not permitted, but BBQs are allowed as long as they are raised off the ground. Fire pits are also available for hire, along with wood and kindling to purchase.

The site is open all year, grass pitches and bell tents until October only. Pitches from £30/night for 2 people.

A note from the site themselves...

We're Robin and Nick, friends who first came to Devon over a decade ago with our young families, and we quickly fell in love with the lifestyle here and never looked back. Camping, river swimming, and exploring the surrounding countryside have always been a big part of our lives, and there's always another walk, cycle, or little adventure waiting just around the corner.

When we created Meadowfields, we wanted it to be a place that offers the best of both worlds: space and freedom for family adventures, but also comfort and flexibility when the Devon weather has other ideas. It's a place where you can choose your own pace, whether that's full days outdoors or slower moments taking things as they come.

Meadowfields is still evolving, and we see it as something we're building and shaping all the time. Most importantly, we're really pleased to share it with you, and we hope you enjoy being part of its story as much as we enjoy creating it.
