About the site
Set in an idyllic spot in Penrith with views towards Blencathra, explore the stunning Lake District National Park in comfort with a stay in one of the glamping pods or cabins. Simply relax and take in the scenery on a lake cruise around Ullswater, or head out for an adventure attempting Scafell Pike! The site offers a range of glamping pods and cabins to suit all groups, each fully furnished and family friendly. Each features high quality mattresses as well as an ensuite bathroom with a loo, shower and sink, and a kitchen equipped with a fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave oven, crockery and tableware. Outside each of the units is a table, chairs and a parasol set on a private decking, plus a brick built BBQ station with one disposable BBQ provided. Ideal for al fresco dining, cook up a feast on the BBQ and tuck in as you watch the sun go down across Blencathra as you enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple. The glamping pods sleep four (two adults and two children) with a double bed, sofa bed and bunk bed. For something a bit larger, opt for one of the glamping cabins suitable for up to six people with a double bed, a fold-out double and a raised bunk with twin beds. The glamping cabins also come with an oven and dishwasher. The accessible pod has a spacious interior with a turning circle of a minimum of 1.5m where needed, level access and wide entry doors so it is suitable for wheelchair users. These sleep up to three (two adults and a child) with a sofa chair that converts into a single and twin beds with orthopaedic mattresses Bedding is provided in all the accommodation. You can either bring your own towels or hire them from the site. Rookin House Equestrian and Activity Centre is next door to the site and offers horse riding, archery, quad biking and even clay pigeon shooting! Or, if you would prefer to take things slower, hop on a lake cruise at Ullswater for a peaceful journey around the second-largest lake of The Lake District. Of course, The Lake District National Park is a walker's dream with miles of walks surrounded by stunning scenery, from lakes to mountains and waterfalls, there is plenty to explore! The Trout Beck River runs past the site and offers a lovely walk with great views of Blencathra. Four-legged friends are welcome in the accessible ensuite glamping pods, an ensuite glamping pod and two of the ensuite glamping cabins. Pet-free options are also available. Please note that the glamping is located on the Caravan and Motorhome Club touring campsite.
