This lovely quiet rural campsite is perfect for peace and watching the world go by, but only five minutes from the world renowned centre of yachting, Cowes, with its quirky shops and beautiful esplanade packed with watering holes and eateries. You'll be only minutes away from Newport, the main town on the Island, at The Ark Park. The tourist attractions of Osborne House and Carisbrooke Castle are 15 minutes drive away.
About The Ark Park
The Ark Park can only be described as beautifully basic and romantically rural. It's full of peace and quiet but there is also the pleasure of the whoops of excitement from little people when they see the resident rare breed pigs coming out for their breakfast, and if you are really lucky there may be piglets running around while you are there. It's a rural site with limited amenities but acres of space - the perfect place for enjoying the countryside 'good life', fresh air and natural things in life. Cowes is just a 5 minute drive away or a short bus journey, and beaches are minutes away. There are arks and yurts to suit every taste for glampers. The arks include secluded options for couples with wood fired hot tubs and ones large enough for a family of four, while the two canvas yurts are light and roomy. All arks have their own under cover cooking facilities with a gas hob and fridge, as well as their own cassette toilets. Two enjoy their own wood fired hot tub! A mobile children's sleeping ark has two full sized single beds that can be moved to the family ark onsite if you need additional sleeping space or to the couples ark.

This is a basic, rural campsite that does have facilities to help you enjoy your stay. Site facilities include drinking water, toilets and a shower but there's no clubhouse, electric hook-ups, or WiFi. All glamping units have their own eco-toilet. The family ark and yurt have the use of the shower. The couples' ark has its own toilet and hot tub for guests' sole use.
The site's beautiful Gloucester Old Spot and Saddleback rare breed pigs trundle about the field and there are homemade sausages, bacon and free range eggs for sale when available, best not to mention the produce to the pigs though!

Built on the same design as the pig arks but much larger and more luxurious, including a king size bed in its own room, and two single bunks, plus a kitchen area and a cassette toilet. Large decking area outside for alfresco dining.
3 x Couples Arks
Max 2 people
Couples arks in a secluded spot with private wood fired hot tub and cassette toilet. You'll be treated to a woodburner, logs, fizz and a hamper on arrival. Ideally suited to a couple but a family of four can be accommodated with mobile children'ss ark.
2 x Yurts
Max 4 people
Stylish yurts with a proper double bed and two singles, all made up for you. Towels and cooking facilities provided.

Site rules and policies
We allow pets but they must be kept under control at all times out of respect to other guests and the livestock.
We love children and are really pleased to see them enjoying the outside and countryside but they must be kind to any livestock and older people.
We try not to list too many rules we just ask everyone to be respectful to animals, and other guests.
Look after the area and be green and have a lovely time.
Things to do on site and in the Cowes area
The Isle of Wight is fabulous walking country and you can go hiking across the entire island. There's sailing in the surrounding area and plenty of safe and traffic free cycling routes.
You can swim nearby and a golfing spot is only two miles away.
Beaches are of course a big attraction, and there are no less than eight in the Cowes area. Try Cowes Beach and the lovely Gurnard Beach to start things off.
