Lizard View is a peaceful, family friendly site set on a family-run working farm that, as the name suggests, enjoys stunning views over the Lizard Peninsula and Cornish countryside. There are just 22 spacious grass pitches onsite eight of which have an electric hook up. Ideally located for exploring Cornwall with Porthleven Beach just a 15 minute drive and Helston 'the gateway to the Lizard Peninsula' only ten minutes by car. Sorry, no dogs.

About the site

This family friendly site is set just a ten minute drive from Helston known as 'the gateway to the Lizard Peninsula' so you'll be ideally located for beach days, pub meals and top attractions. The site is small with just 22 well-spaced grass pitches, eight of which have a 10 amp electric hook up. Pitches are suitable for tents and trailer tents only. You won't be short of things to do in the area with Porthleven Beach only a 15 minute drive away and Praa Sands 20 minutes away you can have plenty of seaside fun! Hire a surfboard or bodyboard for the day and take a lesson or just soak in the sunshine with a walk along the sandy shores. Strictly no campfires allowed unless in raised fire pits, you can have a BBQ but please ensure that it is raised from the ground, blocks are available to help. Please only use charcoal or gas as fuel. Sorry, dogs are not allowed.

Perfect! This site is brand new, super spacious and squeaky clean. Shower is modern and en-suite with plenty of hot water. Toilets are large enough to get changed in and super clean. There is a fridge freezer for campers to use along with dishwashing facilities. Hosts were super friendly and even took the time to check on use from time to time. Highly recommend this site. Perfect for couples and families. Very respectful.

Perfect place to stay! When I arrived, I was greeted by Sarah and shown around, nice little shower & toilet block and they are also adding even more! There's places to wash any dishes and mess tins too. I chose the little corner of the field and it was a lovely place to set up camp for the night. I do wish that I stayed another night however, and will definitely come back again next time I visit. Thank you Simon and Sarah :)

We had a lovely stay as able to relax in the quite. However we have a child and there was not a lot for him to do there, they are developing so if we stay again maybe there will be more there.

What time is check-in and check out at Lizard View?

Check-in is available between 2pm and 8pm on day of arrival. Please advise the site if you are delayed. Check out is before noon on day of departure.

Is Lizard View dog-friendly?

No, unfortunately dogs are not allowed on this site.

Does Lizard View allow BBQs and campfires?

Yes, charcoal and gas BBQs are allowed as long as they are raised off the ground. Open fires are also permitted as long as they are in raised fire pits.

Does Lizard View allow group bookings?

The site caters for families and couples only, and does not accept group bookings of more than three units. Hen and stag parties are not accepted.

Yes, gazebos are allowed and must be securely fastened. Please note gazebos may have to be taken down during times of high wind.

Yes, you can park your car by your pitch.

There is an optional 10 amp electric hook up for each pitch.

What are the nearest public transport links to Lizard View?

The nearest bus stop is called 'Crelly Cross' and is a three minute walk away. The nearest train station is Camborne which is a 15 minute drive from the site.

Things to do on site and in the Helston area

The site is ideally located for visiting some top beaches, one of the closest is in Porthleven (15 minutes) a foodie hotspot with celebrity chef restaurants and great for those wanting to pick up some locally made crafts. Within 30 minutes there are plenty of other beaches as well as countryside walks with bridleways surrounding the site.

If you don't feel like walking there is a bus stop just a short walk from the campsite that runs a 20 minute service to Helston, or to other local towns with a national rail service. Helston is known for the Flora Dance and Hal-an-Tow traditions in May and is a must see whilst you are there!
