Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesOct 2024

Very nice stop off, a bit pricey and then a small shower charge on top, a bit strange in my opinion. But, facilities very tidy and site very clean and well kept.

Site's response

Hello Tony, Thanks you for staying with us and recommending Little Acre on Campsites.co.uk. Paul

Lovely little site, can see why it was runner up! Smashing fella who runs it, very welcoming. Nice walks along canal path and lovely hotel/bar across the road. We will certainly be back.

Absolute gem of a site, couldn't fault a thing. The owner greeted us and was so friendly and welcoming. Toilet blocks really clean and the shower was really good too, 40p for 6 minutes! Wouldn't hesitate to go back. The pub across the road has excellent food, be sure to book as we saw many people turned away. Overall, an excellent stay.

Site's response

Hi Lauren, Thank you for staying with us recently and leaving such a lovely review of your time with us. Paul P.S. I'm going to the Crooklands for my tea tonight and I agree completely about booking before you arrive - it's a popular place!

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesOct 2024

Excellent, small, friendly caravan site, which was our very first with our new caravan. Quiet and nearby canal nice to walk along. Staff on site very friendly and helpful. Location perfect, close to M6 and all the South Lakes places of interest.

Site's response

Hi Goodwin, Thank you for choosing Little Acre for the first trip in your new caravan - the next time you're with me you'll be caravanning veterans! Paul

Could have some signage as to where dishwashing facilities are. We did not know there was another area where they were located. Could do with some lighting at night as very dark.

Site's response

Hi Julie, Thank you for staying with us recently and rating Little Acre as 5*'s. The lack of information prior to your arrival was down to me - I usually send a comprehensive email pre-arrival which includes where the facility blocks are located, what facilities are available and a map on the site. Unfortunately, the area had suffered a power cut and I had to send out a bare bones message via mobile phone, rather than the detailed greetings email. I hope that you'll visit us again and have a full explore of the site! Paul

Absolutely brilliant place. Easy to find and pitch the van. Shame it was just an overnight stop. The toilets are immaculate, with, nail files, cotton wool balls, hand cream and anything else you might need.

Site's response

Hi Sheila Thank you for staying with us for your overnight stay (lots of people stay overnight with us and are very welcome to do so!) and rating us as 5*'s on Campsites.co.uk. Paul

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding PitchesOct 2024

A lovely site very convenient for the M6. Our stay was only for one night and we were almost late for the check in, but this was fine after I phoned en-route. Facilities excellent and really clean, close to a lovely looking pub and the canal for walks. We found the M6 a little noisy, but the location was what we needed. A well maintained site.

Site's response

Hi Karen Thank you for your recent stay with us. Your phonecall made all the difference, as I could reassure you that all was good with your arrival time. Hopefully we can host you again in the future. Paul & Sarah

A great park

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding PitchesOct 2024

This is a fantastic family run park that was central to everything we wanted to do in the area. The facilities were spotless and the attention to detail unbelievable with extras provided in the showers and washrooms. The washer dryer facilities were also faultless. The pitch we had was perfect for our needs as we tow a motorcycle trailer behind the motorhome. However, looking around the site, we didn't see any bad pitches. The family who run it were so friendly and always on hand, and happy to help with any questions we had regarding the local area. This is a park that we will use many times in the future. 5 stars is a true reflection!

Site's response

Hi Andrew, Thank you for the lovely review of your recent stay at Little Acre - by complete chance, the following visitor onto your pitch was a motorhome with motorbike trailer as well! Enjoy your touring and we'll see you next time. Paul & Sarah

Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding PitchesSep 2024

A very convenient place to stop over on way to/from Scotland along the M6 with easy access off of the motorway. No-one to greet or book us in so we just pitched up on the space advised earlier by email. Facilities all good and clean. Unable to empty grey eater tank as slight uphill grade to the drain made this impossible. Overall, pleased with our stopover and would consider again.

Site's response

Hello Don, thank you for choosing Little Acre for your stopover. On your arrival day, a family commitment 100 miles away meant that I couldn't be here when you arrived, but I'm glad that the pre arrival email including directions straight to your assigned pitch, a map of the site and details of all of the facilities at Little Acre meant that you were able to find your pitch and enjoy your convenient stopover. Paul.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesSep 2024

Excellent site, well maintained and the facilities have been well thought out. Clean, very clean. Close to the Lakes and Dales and perfect for stop overs as well as longer stays. Didn't see anyone or staff on site but contact via email left instructions and left to own devices. Great site will be be back

Site's response

Hi Robert, thank you for staying at Little Acre and rating your stay so highly on Campsites.co.uk. I'm sorry that I didn't get the chance to say hello - my son was playing rugby 100 or so miles away, which meant that we'd set off before you arrived and it was dark when we got back! Usually, I'm around and about all day to meet, greet, show people around and help in any way that I can. Next time around we'll be able to put faces to names! Paul.

Large A-class or Tag Axle Motorhome - Electric Hardstanding PitchesSep 2024

We've just stayed here for 3 nights as we were visiting friends in Arnside, so it was ideal for us. It's a great little site, well kept and the owners are lovely, very helpful and friendly. The shower block is lovely and clean and has some nice little personal touches, the only draw back is there were only 2 toilets and one shower in the block we used, hence the 4 stars. Will definitely stay again when we're back in the area.

Site's response

Hi Cath, thank you for staying with us and leaving such a lovely review of your stay at Little Acre. We have 2 shower and loo blocks at Little Acre and you were closest to the smaller of the two - but size isn't everything and the loos and showers would have been always available for you, without having to wait. Enjoy your (long!) trip home and it'll be lovely to host you another time. Paul.

Spotless facilities. Very friendly

Single Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesSep 2024

A lovely quiet site, 19 mins away from Kendal centre. With friendly hosts and spotless facilities.

Site's response

Thank you for staying with us Tracey. As well as going to Kendal, quite a few folk have a short trip to Kirkby Lonsdale as well, both are about 7 miles away. Plus on Mon-Sat you can take the bus to either place, with the bus stop being about 200 yards away. Paul

Twin Axle Caravan - Electric Hardstanding PitchesSep 2024

We have stayed at many sites during our travels and have had personal wet rooms allocated to our pitch in 2 of them. But the standard of Little Acre's toilet/shower facilities, laundry room and washing up area was 5 *. They were absolutely immaculate and were better than some hotels! A fairly good route to the main attractions of the Coniston & Windermere lakes, obviously driving not walking. A great pub only minutes away (walking), Paul was a great guy, he showed us around as we arrived and was always helpful. The showers were 20p and were fantastic! Thank you.

Site's response

Immaculate site, not overcrowded, quiet, easy access from M6.

Site's response

Hi Beverley, I'm glad that you enjoyed a quiet and peaceful time at Little Acre. September is a cracking time to visit the Yorkshire Dale and Lake District from us - everywhere is still open, the weather is (usually) decent and its nowhere near as busy as the Summer months. Paul.
