Little Acre Holiday Park is just a 15-minute drive from the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. This dog friendly touring park is adjacent to the tranquil Lancaster Canal, ideal for dog walking and relaxing. Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale are close by and accessible by a bus stop 100m away. Good food and drink from the pub at the Crooklands Hotel is less than 100m and always popular (booking recommended).

Lovely little campsite with very friendly owners. The showers and toilets were amazing, very clean and warm. Being so close to the motorway, you can hear some noise but it's not too loud, I would definitely stay there again. The canal is very close to the site. You can walk for miles, absolutely beautiful. There is a gorgeous pub just a few mins walk away. If you plan to eat there, I recommend you book. We didn't book so we couldn't eat there unfortunately.

Amazing little site. Owners are lovely and happy to help. The showers and toilets are outstanding and beautifully clean, the 20p for showers didn't bother us at all. There is a canal path facing the site and, most importantly, a pub across the road. A washer/dryer available too. Would definitely come back again so a big thank you to all of you for making such a lovely, peaceful, clean site. Well done.

Our first time staying at the site, lovely location near the canal, excellent pub a few minutes walk away. Beautiful showers and toilets with under floor heating! Everything was very well cared for and clean. Friendly site owners, we'll be making a return visit at some point.

Only stayed for two nights, little gem of a place. Very welcoming and friendly. The new toilet & shower block is beautiful, like a 5 star hotel. We will defo go back sometime and we highly recommend.

Located just a few minutes from M6 J36, this high quality site is ideal to explore the South Lakes or as a convenient stopover for onward journeys. The hard standings are level, spaced and well serviced. There are two toilet and shower blocks, both very modern and kept super clean. Upon arrival, we were made very welcome. Just a short walk from the site is the Crooklands hotel, which offers sensibly priced high quality food and well kept real ale - please just be careful crossing the main road as the traffic is fast and the visibility not great, especially when dark. A short drive away is the village of Milnthorpe which has many amenities including some excellent cafes. Overall an excellent, well managed site. Recommended.

Nice welcome on arrival. Shown to pitch. Only a small camp but all the facilities were spotlessly clean. Brand new shower and toilet block with launderette and washing up area. 20p for the best three minute shower I've ever had. 3 minutes was easily enough time.

Lovely, small site. Toilets and showers absolutely lovely. Very well maintained grounds. Owners very friendly and knowledgeable. Slight road noise but didn't keep us awake. Would definitely go back. Hotel restaurant across the road reasonably priced. Food lovely. Bus stop just outside on main road.

Communication prior to the stay was great. During the stay when I had a question the response was extremely quick and helpful. The shower block we used was super clean and very warm. The only criticism was the 20p per 3 minute shower. It seems a bit strange in addition to the cost for the pitch. The site is situated on the 567 bus route from Kendal to Kirkby Lonsdale and we were able to visit both places. The local pub/restaurant was a two-minute walk away and was worth a visit (book in advance). The canal towpath is next to the site and provided a lovely and easy walk. We would return and enjoyed our stay.
Site's response
Thank you for staying with us and we'd love to host you again, Carole. The showers have been 20p for 3 mins for an awful long time, but for a while, the showers became free. Sadly, we had multiple instances of people repeatedly pushing the hot water button until either a) the hot water ran out or b) (even worse) the 47kg gas cylinder was emptied. With a) the showers were unusable for 45 mins until the hot water was replenished, with b) the showers weren't usable until the following day when the expensive gas cylinder could be replenished - both scenarios were incredibly annoying for customers and me alike! When we reintroduced the 20p for 3 mins, we also added complimentary shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, heated and illuminated mirrors and hairdryers - plus, the showers have never run out of hot water again! Paul

Stayed for 3 nights. Fairly quiet site with a brand new shower block at one end and a rather old one at the other, but nice and warm. Stayed on pitch 13 but found it very tight on space and was next to 2 large vans and towing vehicles who were together. They had several visitors over the weekend with various people staying over, so felt that there was no security at all. Would have preferred to be on the far field which was quieter.

Thank you for staying with us at Little Acre and recommending us on Campsites.co.uk, Brenda. I'm sorry that you stay wasn't as enjoyable as it could have been and that was down to me taking a booking for 2 x caravans on pitches that I normally put campervans/motorhomes on. If there had been campervans/motorhomes on those pitches, pitch #13 would have felt as "open" as all other pitches do and your stay with us would have felt different. I hope that you do come back and stay with me on another occasion and that I can "make things right" for you. Paul.

One the best sites we have stayed on. Easy access off motorway with clean, well set up pitches. Attention to detail in facilities with little touches like hand soap, cleaning materials in heated shower blocks (2). We have a dog and the site is located next to Canal walks and a great dog friendly pub and restaurant just over the road. Well appointed location for both the Lakes and Dales. Owners friendly and helpful. All in all, a lovely site so would recommend.

So good. We booked before heading home from our holiday. It's a small site with amazing wash facilities. Make sure you stock up on 20p's for the shower. It's 3 minutes of pure bliss. There is a restaurant within walking distance called The Crooklands. Great pitches with amazing facilities. Toilet block looks new. Perfect for a stop just off the M6 (junction 36). Fuel nearby that has a well stocked shop. Great for an overnighter if going north or south. Restaurant within walking distance of the Crooklands that has a lovely menu and atmosphere. You need to book this ahead of time. We have already booked for our return trip north.

Hi Laura, thank you for staying with us and immediately rebooking - it's really appreciated. The new shower block is proving to be very popular, the showers even more so. Enjoy your touring around I hope to host you again in the future. Paul.

Lovely location but a bit noisy as it is close to a busy road and the M6. The welcome from the warden was the best I have had so far anywhere, and the facilities are 5 star. Only downside is that there is no motorhome service point to dump our grey waste. Will still return in the future.

Thank you for staying with us Mark and recommending Little Acre on Campsites.co.uk. It will be lovely to host you again in the future. Paul p.s the site is usually very quiet, but at times if the wind is in the wrong direction, we can hear the M6 in the distance.
