Great stay! - simple and high quality amenities
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 Myself, my partner, and a friend stayed for two nights. Sweet Knoll was easy going and simple with all the facilities we needed, and more. Great toilets close by, along with showers, a fridge and a freezer. Only three miles (ish) from Castleton its a good walk into town. It is also just up the road from Peak Forest where the local pub does good ale and great food.
Great stay. Exactly what we wanted.
Lovely scenery but too many people for the facilities VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 Booked the site but did not receive any info on how to check in and checked the listing, but it didn't say anything.
When we arrived we looked around for someone, saw a lady with a clipboard and she said to park anywhere. No other info given or conversation had. No probs, parked up. The facilities are all unisex and there is not enough. 3 fields full of tents and only two showers. I had to queue for the toilet and showers. The views are great but due to the facilities, we wouldn't return.

Perfect Stay
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 Absolutely beautiful campsite. Amazing views and great walks ; we walked to Castleton, which is a must, if you haven't visited before. Lovely local pub which serves food. Stephanie was very helpful and always out and about making sure the facilities were clean and stocked up. Fantastic weekend break, will definitely visit again.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 This campsite was a great base for exploring the Peak District with it being a short drive to Bakewell, Buxton, Castleton and other pretty villages surrounding. The site was clean and peaceful and the facilities were good. The toilets were kept clean and the showers were hot. The only thing that would make it better would be having more than two showers as it can get quite busy at the weekends. We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be returning.

Beautiful quiet friendly site
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 Just back from 4 nights at this campsite and what a beaut it is! Large field with plenty of space, we pitched our tent near the two outdoor sinks which are super handy, and close to the friendly donkeys! :)
The site offers plenty of space with view across the valley where you can watch the sun set. Plenty of sheep in the surrounding hills which provide a lot of baa-ing (which was nice!) plus cows in the cow shed. The showers work really well and there's plenty of loos - all kept very clean. Alongside the outdoor sinks there is an indoor one beside a small communal forage and freezer.
The site allows dogs, campfires and BBQs. which was a must for us. The extreme warm weather meant the last two nights we couldn't have a fire pit though due to the earth being like tinder! Everyone was super friendly and Stephanie made her rounds every day chatting with everyone and recommending places to visit/eat.
Ideally located for a visit to Mam Tor - 11 minute drive to the car park - so we visited that the first day then made a 4am trip up on the last day for the sunrise - well worth it!
Pick this site if you want a quieter more relaxing vibe.No onsite shop or play park means you wont be pestered by thousands of kids but YOUR kids will have plenty of space to play. Stephanie said it get very busy so that have another field they open at weekends. All in all one of the nicest campsites we have stayed and I'd absolutely recommend this place! Great location to explore the Peak District.

Mixed feelings - beautiful but overcrowded VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches Aug 2026 Arrived on Friday and was taken back by the beautiful scenery and well kept grounds. We got set up and myself, my partner and our puppy were 'happy as Larry'.
However, things unfortunately went downhill from there. It was evident that the campsite overbook the grounds and so we ended up getting boxed in with people about a metre away from us from every side. Camping is all about disconnecting and having privacy and we felt we couldn't even have a conversation.
It's a real shame because the toilets were clean and as I say, the grounds are well kept but the amount of people was borderline ridiculous. Especially when you only have two showers accessible.
We ended up staying one night instead of the 2 nights we had originally booked.
Such a shame considering if it wasn't overcrowded, I wouldn't have a bad word to say. Either they need to accept less bookings or you need to police people pitching up close to other people better.

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 Great site in a beautiful farm setting equipped with good facilities (plenty of toilets, fridge and hot showers). Good pubs in castleton for food and lots of lovely footpaths all around.
Short but sweet!
Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 We are regular campers and decided to spend one night in the peaks. Having spent the day at my son’s graduation in Nottingham we needed somewhere not too far away and with basic amenities to make the most of our weekend before heading back to work!! This site suited us down to the ground!!!
No strict Do’s and don’ts - just easy to follow, sensible rules and regulations with good clean facilities. What more could you want for an overnight stay?!

Enjoyable farm stay

You are on a working farm, so do be aware of the smells and sounds of cows, sheep and donkeys that comes with it.
Great views of the sunset over the peaks. Good amount of toilets and lovely hot showers available. I would advise a freezer that has shelves rather than the box style to help people identify their items. But, overall enjoyable stay and would return.
First camping trip
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 Myself and my partner stayed here for 3 nights with our dog and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The shower block and the toilets were always clean and well stocked and we constantly saw Stephanie making sure they stayed this way. The little freezer in the shower block was brilliant addition to have also. The site was well maintained all over in general. We will definetly recommend people to stay at Sweet Knoll and we will definetly come back and stay again in the future.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches Jul 2026 My first time camping and I could not have picked anywhere better. My partner is a Camper and he agrees that everything on the site was perfect! A really lovely place that we will definitely be returning to. Clean, well kept, the owner was lovely a really beautiful place with great facilities.
