Excellent stay at Barn Farm. The toilets always had loo roll, bins around the camp were regularly emptied and never had to queue to wash up. Loved the bank holiday entertainment in the evening. I would say one of the best sites we have stayed at, we shall come back, thank you very much.

Really enjoyed the weekend. Good for kids to run and let off steam, while parents can watch from a distance. Plenty of good walks in the area.

First stay here and will not be the last. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The facilities are fantastic, the fields are big and well kept. The showers are lovely and warm with cleanliness you see on very few sites. Lovely, peaceful spot with plenty of walking direct from the site but not too far a drive to many more! Loved it!

Brilliant campsite. It's on my list of campsites to return to and hopefully often. It's in a great location and reasonable driving distance to many of the fantastic villages and many walking routes out of the campsite is a bonus. It's great for the kids. There is a play area and games room. The games room requires silver to play the games on offer and their is a large field, with enough distance from the other fields, that is dedicated to DofE groups. There were many of them, but it didn't dampen the atmosphere or the quiet campsite. I'll be returning to Barn Farm soon!

It's in a nice location, lots of walks to do and a couple of pubs within walking distance. The DofE kids are genuinely no bother at all you barely see them around the campsite. It's a busy campsite in general plenty of bricks for BBQ use. It's on a vertical hill though, not a slight slope at all and the peacocks are so loud and constantly making noise. Other guests make noise all night long, it's so annoying so would be good if the site had security patrol and stop people screaming or playing music

Always a pleasure to stay here. Great location and good facilities. The next camping field to us was full of young people doing Duke of Edinburgh award. Lovely to see young people enjoying themselves, we found all students polite and friendly. Weather great whilst we were there, so ice cream van was an inspired idea.

The site is reasonably located, to visit a number of places, such as Bakewell, Matlock and Chatsworth House. There are also a number if walks you can do from the site. The staff are very friendly and available to help when necessary. The site appears to be well used for the Duke of Edinburgh scheme and at times there must have been 80+ students there. All well behaved and no noise, but this means the washrooms can be very busy at peak times. Be careful when using sat nav with a touring van as there is a very narrow road close to the village.
Enjoyed

Great short break easy to get to Bakewell, and great walks from the site. Enjoyed a nice welcome at the Druids Inn after our walks.

My friend and I had a lovely stay at Barn Farm, just perfect. Gorgeous views, lovely little village with 2 nice pubs a short walk from the camp site, serving food. Matlock, Ashbourne and Bakewell all a short drive away. The campsite had a lot of bins dotted all around which were emptied regularly. Lots of toilets that are cleaned regularly and showers. Several washing up areas and even a space for drying clothes. There is a lovely little shop on site which is handy if you forget anything or if you just want an ice cream. There is a games room and an outside play area for the kids. The peacocks and alpacas on the farm are a nice addition. Plenty of field space, beautiful surroundings and friendly staff. Had a lovely weekend and hope to return soon.

We went with the Hillside Owners meeting, loved every thing about this site. Beautiful walks, easy walk to local pub, bus stops close by (although we did not use) and views to take your breath away. On reading reviews before we went, a lot of people mentioned the fact that there was a field for DOE students, I thought, oh, not sure about this! How wrong was I. Absolutely loved watching these very respectful young people setting up their tents, cooking, playing games, it was a delight to be reminded that most young people are very respectful. A very unusual addition to the site was a security guard, walking round making sure everyone was considerate to each other. If one of my children had been staying at this site, I would have been so pleased knowing this gentleman was looking out for everyone, well done Barn Farm.

Absolutely wonderful. Mark and the team work wonders looking after the site. A great time was had by all. We will be back again for the 5th time next year. The view, the wildlife, the location, all bind together to make a great location.

Lovely site with amazing views! We booked for one night previously and liked it so much we went back the following week! Would recommend, lovely relaxing stay. Loved seeing the peacocks and alpacas too! We took our dog also and surrounding walks are great too! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful location, we will definitely book again soon.

We arrived on Friday evening! We loved looking at the free roaming peacocks walk around the park. It was really busy and staff were very polite and very accommodating. The children enjoyed playing in the little outdoors area with badminton, basketball and ring toss. There was a very popular wood fire pizza van here Fri & Sat as it was a busy weekend. The next day we had issues with our electrics. The owner spent loads of time trying to help us and eventually we sorted out the problem with our trailer tent. The children loved playing on their wooden play area and games room. The little shop was great for picking up the odd items you may have forgotten or needed. The bathrooms were always clean and well stocked up. Everyone was polite and we had a fabulous stay and can't wait to come here again! Thank you ☺️
