Hunters Lodge Caravan and Camping Site provides a peaceful adult only stay, ten minutes from Dawlish Warren Beach with great transport connections to Exmouth nearby. The site is home to a small number of electric grass tent pitches and paved hardstanding touring pitches. Within a 15 minute walk you can find the Starcross train station and ferry port, along with a range of pubs enjoying views over the River Exe. Dogs are welcome too!

A very friendly welcome on arrival. Perfect site for access to local area by bus, train, ferry and bicycle. Very pleasant surroundings amongst hens, ducks and geese. Facilities very clean. Will definitely be returning.

Great little campsite. Facilities were clean. I think another set of showers would be a good addition as always having to queue, but to be fair it was the August bank holiday weekend, which may be the busiest time of the year. Pitch was in good condition considering the weather we've had recently. Great if you want to bring your dog. Plenty of walks nearby and there are dog friendly sections at Dawlish Warren beach.

We loved the peace and quiet of Hunters Lodge, but found there wasn't much to do close by especially with a dog. However, there is a train station, which is really close by, meaning you can explore further afield. We had some lovely good at The Atmospheric (a pub by the station) and good drinks at The Anchor Inn (the other side by the harbour). There were only 3 toilets and 1 shower (per gender) which I imagine would get really busy when the campsite was fully booked. The facilities were also quite old. There was no hot water available for washing up dishes. Overall, a good stay but, for us, we just needed a few more things to do!

Each pitch has privacy and loads of space. Really good location - short walk to the pub by the harbour and Starcross station. Also, the host was really helpful and friendly.

Fantastic site and owner. Couldn't have been more kind, especially when our motorhome broke down. He had a look but it was obvious that it needed a new part and Paul (the owner) contacted a local mechanic, who came to the site and fixed the problem. Absolutely brilliant help and service.

Lovely peaceful campsite with a friendly helpful owner. Only feedback would be to perhaps put sensor lighting in a few areas to guide people to the facilities on a night time.

Booked this short break as a much-needed rest away from everything, and it fitted the bill perfectly. A beautiful site in a lovely tranquil setting, clean and tidy and quiet, absolutely lovely. We went along the estuary on Saturday and it is a lovely place to walk or cycle, we cycled and took in some lovely views. Would definitely book again.

Lovely place, and highly recommended. As a camper in a tent, my only observation was the lack of a fridge available. I have found this extremely helpful on many other sites, we can't always guarantee our English weather and the ability to keep some things chilled more efficiently would be beneficial.

Hunters lodge is a lovely quiet park with plenty of lovely walks. Close to public transport, really good cycle paths and also close to the railway station. If you want a quiet holiday, this place is perfect.

Considering the cost per night, I was a little disappointed that the showers were an extra £1. Great location I would definitely go again

We got what we were looking for - a site for adults only so that we could have the peace and quiet we were after. There are some beautiful views and the owners have done their best to make the most of these. Our pitch was nearer the road side of the site so we were able to hear the traffic but it didn't spoil our stay. Great to have the chickens on site, and lots of greenery and flowers by the stream plus the pond with it's wildlife. We were initially concerned that there is only 1 male and 1 female shower but we didn't have to queue at all. All well maintained. A little more information to hand at the site regarding local walks and information about the surrounding area would be welcome, though Paul was very helpful when asked about the immediate area. Thanks for a lovely break.

Well kept small campsite, even better being adult only. Reasonable facilities, considering the size of it. One thing that stopped us giving a perfect rating was the distinct lack of hot water in the dish washing areas (difficult to wash pots and pans in cold water).

This is a wonderful site- a little piece of English countryside, complete with chickens, ducks and the sound of sheep. Owners are very friendly and helpful, and the site was perfect for us and our dog. Local amenities are within easy walking distance, along with a train station and ferry across to Exmouth. Fresh eggs from the hens were a bonus too! We will definitely visit again.

Loved it here... First visit and would recommend if you like peace and quiet. Lovely big pitches with room for caravan, awning and car with grassed area for sitting. Very friendly owner. We didn't want to leave due to the peace and quiet, but the site is walking distance to train station and bus stop if you want to visit the local area. Adults only was a bonus for us.
