Dog friendly Wilton Farm campsite situated in beautiful South Devon, near Kingsbridge and Salcombe. The site has stunning views and access to the estuary. There are over eight acres of land and ample space to find your perfect pitch. Feed the farm animals on site and quench your own thirst at a good pub within a stroll. A good spot for launching canoes and kayaks. Several lovely beaches are nearby including Fisherman's Cove and Salcombe.

About the site


Wilton Farm is a campsite and working farm set in the glorious South Devon hills near Salcombe and Kingsbridge in a little village called South Pool. The site enjoys spectacular and unspoiled views of the local area, with access to not only a wealth of nature trails and wildlife but also to the creek and estuary for those who wish to bring kayaks and canoes. There are eight acres of camping and ample space to find your perfect spot, with stunning views across the South Devon hills and estuary. Dogs welcome. Please note, the site are unable to take bookings for caravans and large motorhomes as the country lanes here are not suitable for large vehicles.

The site is open for May half term, weekends in July and from 18th July to the end of August.

There are compost loos and heated showers in rustic wooden huts. The facilities are basic and designed to be in keeping with the natural environment they are set in and to ensure they have minimal impact on the land. All totally off-grid, no electric hook-ups, no flushing toilets, just mother nature at her best.

They do not offer any facility for disposing of chemical waste.

There is a well-stocked shop with fresh produce including milk, bread and vegetables, plus wood for BBQs (and the BBQs themselves!). There is a freezer for ice packs and a communal barn for socialising indoors. You can charge gadgets for a small fee.

The Millbrook is an award winning pub close by and the Pigs Nose in East Prawle and the Globe Inn in Frogmore are recommended.

Site rules

Dogs are welcome here, free of charge, and must be well-supervised and kept on a lead whilst onsite.

BBQs and fire pits are welcome here, provided they are kept raised off the ground, and can also he hired out from the site's own farm shop.

Check-in here is between 2:30pm till 7pm and you must vacate your tent or touring pitch by noon on day of departure.

This site welcomes groups of large campers. However bookings for under 18's are not permitted.

Facilities

Yep, the farm shop here stocks a variety of locally sourced produce including sausages, bread, eggs, milk, fruit and vegetables, plus a few essentials including logs, charcoal, toilet paper and more. Fire pits and BBQs are also available to hire at the shop here.

What's nearby

A number of delightful beaches are in easy reach from the site, including Fisherman's Cove, Mill Bay and Salcombe - the site is also a good base for canoe/kayak launching.

Join the South West Coast Path at Gara Rock nearby and don't miss a trip to Start Point Lighthouse for sweeping views over the Devon coast.

Campervans under 7m are welcome onsite, however caravans and large motorhomes are not permitted.


A note from the site themselves...

Our site is set on a traditional family-run farm, perfect for campers to enjoy the stunning beaches, wild headlands and picturesque fields. When you stay here you get the chance to unwind around the campfire, toasting marshmallows under a starry night sky.

We also offer a farm shop and hangout barn. You can meet our animals too, including Jersey cows, lambs, and chicks!

Things to do on site and in the South Pool area

The site is ideally situated to visit some of the famous locations in the area, including the sailing town of Salcombe, old market town of Kingsbridge and several wonderful beaches such as Mill Bay and Fisherman's Cove.

If you're an Agatha Christie fan (and who doesn't love a bit of Poirot or Miss Marple?) there are plenty of relevant sights in the area.
