VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass and Hardstanding Pitches Jul 2025 Lovely site set in beautiful countryside away from the bustle of the coast.
The facilities are clean and the pitches are well maintained. The local pub serves up good pub grub and is a 5min walk away. Plenty of room on good sized pitches.
Highly recommend.
Quiet site Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass and Hardstanding Pitches Jul 2025 Lovely quiet site.
Lovely views and a great pub a short walk away. Lack of signs on anything makes it a bit tricky to work out things like recycling, shower or WC, or even where the campsite actually is.
Anyway, all that is soon overcome for a peaceful place to stay.
Amazing stay! Beautiful location! Will be back again! Recommends site
Shepherd's Hut - Otter's Nest Shepherd's Hut Jul 2025 I really loved my stay here! I really wish I had longer, it was my first time in Charmouth and I will definitely be visiting again soon! Beautiful little campsite with lovely local pubs and farm shops!
As a solo female traveller I felt very safe and secure on site too which is always a bonus!
My new number 1 campsite Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass and Hardstanding Pitches Jun 2025 This place is a little bit of heaven, so peaceful and surrounded by nature. Has all the facilities you need, including a fridge and freezer. The showers are real nice and the toilets are clean.
All you hear through out the day is birds and sheep. It's not overcrowded and the plot you get is huge and private, we met the farm's horses, who were so friendly, and their cat who was adorable. It's a short drive from Charmouth and Lyme Regis.
Couldn't ask for a better site. Also love how they leave you to it instead of hassling you like a lot of sites. They give you free Wi-Fi which is a lovely bonus.
Absolutely charming Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass and Hardstanding Pitches Jun 2025 Great site that has everything you need for a relaxing time away.
Nice and quiet lots of room.
Lovely Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass and Hardstanding Pitches Jun 2025 We had a lovely ten days stay, had beautiful weather, would definitely stay again.
Natural setting Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass and Hardstanding Pitches Jun 2025 This is a fantastic natural setting with well spaced pitches.
Wi-Fi, hot water, washing up liquid and sponges, good quality water and fridge, and clean loose and showers. Surrounded by wildlife...
Beautiful set up and location Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass and Hardstanding Pitches Jun 2025 Beautiful and tucked away. Left alone and trusted. Good facilities. Lovely peaceful place.
Thanks
Lovely location and very peaceful Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass and Hardstanding Pitches Jun 2025 We were attracted to Hobby Farm because as 'tenters' we like a small, quiet site with good pitches. We loved the location, deep in the Dorset countryside surrounded by the sounds of nature - songbirds, owls, foxes (we think), not to mention the farm's peacocks and horses. Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper!
Our pitch was well drained and didn't get soggy despite some heavy rain. Pitches are a comfortable distance apart so you get privacy. Having Wi-Fi on site was a nice extra. We didn't see the owners at all, but that's okay. The site was quite full at one point but there was no noise at night.
There were some minor niggles that stopped it being a perfect stay: There are 3 showers, one of which was never more than lukewarm, and another that was either steaming hot or stone cold. Shower rooms are extremely draughty; it wouldn't take much effort to block the huge gaps. Toilet / shower rooms and the fridge look like they don't get cleaned very often. Pitches are lumpy and unmown - not a problem for vans but it is for tents.
Having said all that, we'd stay again for the location and the peace and quiet.
A gem Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass and Hardstanding Pitches May 2025 What a lovely site.
Basic but everything you need and clean. A beautiful and peaceful place.
Will definitely return.
Stunning Spot Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass and Hardstanding Pitches May 2025 Hobby Farm is a belter of a campsite. Beautiful, quiet, great facilities and easy to find. Super close to the best bits of west Dorset, Bridport Saturday market and Eype beach.
We had a great stay and will be booking again.
Little hidden gem Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass and Hardstanding Pitches May 2025 Brilliant little place and a good size. Will definitely go back again. Just need a few more hooks in the smaller shower rooms so you can hang towels, wash bag and clothes but apart from that, an excellent find!
The Badger's Retreat Recommends site
Shepherd's Hut - Badger's Retreat Shepherd's Hut May 2025 Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cosy little hut. Loved that we could sit out on the decking overlooking the pond whilst our dog enjoyed the secure enclosure.
This was our first stay and whilst here, we booked again! The hut itself could do with a little TLC, hooks on the back of doors and some shelves would be useful. Sadly, condensation on the inside of the windows between the double glazing inhibits being able to see out clearly. Would be good to have two of everything crockery wise as there was only one wine glass, one tumbler and one side plate.
The kitchen tap is extremely wobbly. Would be good to have some sort of draining tray to sit over the huge sink. The kettle is missing its knob so you cannot lift the lid and have to fill from the spout. Lastly, the poor badger with a hole in its bottom! Maybe this should be replaced as it was the first thing we saw upon arrival. Could the Badger Retreat sign be put on the gate as was hard to see where it was on the floor of the decking? Oh yes, and maybe some signs around the campsite to show where the walks start.
These comments are just to help you and are not a criticism as we did love our stay and, as I said, we have already booked our next visit this time in the Fox's Den as it is slightly bigger! Thank you for a wonderful stay, your campsite is a little gem and we will be recommending it to our friends.
It was quiet and private, and each pitch allowed for a car Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass and Hardstanding Pitches Apr 2025 It was my partner's first time camping in a tent and even though it rained, he would come again!
Sweet and secluded environment. Great value for money. Enjoyed both the sunrise and sunset. Toilets are nearby wherever you pitch. They are clean and well maintained.
Lovely, clean and peaceful Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass and Hardstanding Pitches Apr 2025 Lovely quiet campsite, basic but beautiful. Great if you enjoy the peace and quiet, and we loved listening to all the birds in the morning.
Has a couple of toilets and showers and they are regularly cleaned. Nice pub just a 5 min walk away.
We will definitely be returning as we enjoyed our night here.
Great peaceful site Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass and Hardstanding Pitches Apr 2025 Super site in lovely countryside.
We only did an overnight stay but liked it a lot. Clean loo and shower good washing up facilities. Use of fire baskets, logs for sale. Small lake. We will come back again.
Lovely campsite with no fuss Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass and Hardstanding Pitches Apr 2025 We loved this little campsite. Had everything we needed with no fuss. The pitches are spacious and the big open space in the middle is nice.
The location is perfect for exploring Lyme Regis and the neighbouring coastline.
Wonderful Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass and Hardstanding Pitches Mar 2025 This early in the season we had the place to ourselves which is a luxury.
The facilities are basic but all that you need.
The pub up the road is friendly and the food great, from what we saw (the chef was making her beer batter by using the beer hand pump at the bar). We'll be back again.
Lovely Recommends site
Small Tent - Non Electric Grass and Hardstanding Pitches Nov 2024 Super small site, open all year. Quiet and in gorgeous countryside. Basic facilities but that's what we wanted.
Peaceful site Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass and Hardstanding Pitches Oct 2024 A great little spot, it was peaceful (yay no kids!). There was plenty of space, it feels like it's in the middle of nowhere, but it's only a 15 minute drive from Bridport.
Basic but clean facilities and warm running water at the outdoor sink.
Break away Recommends site

Quiet and beautiful Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass and Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2024 Never have we been to a site where the toilets and showers are so clean, and yet we barely noticed the owners presence. Really well run, just perfect.
Site was quiet with a vibe of relaxation everyone respected.
Just lovely! Will be back again xx
A refreshing stay Recommends site
Shepherd's Hut - Otter's Nest Shepherd's Hut Aug 2024 Beautiful and tranquil location, pleasant and clean caravan/hut accommodation.
Peace and quiet Recommends site
Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass and Hardstanding Pitches Aug 2024 A great site and have already left a review however wanted to say the pictures don't show the gravel road to each pitch which make it much easier to drive around without fear of getting stuck in the weather.
Also, the pitches have been levelled so you can always camp or park your van on the flat which is great. 👍 if you like the quiet life, this is the place for you. 😊
