Birchwood Tourist Park is a rural and family-run campsite, with mainly grassy pitches and some hard standings for tents, trailer tents, touring caravans and motorhomes. The site is located three miles' drive from Wareham town, surrounded by Wareham Forest with direct access for dog walking and cycling. Yet within a short drive you can visit the Jurassic Coast.
Birchwood Tourist Park is quite open, set over 27 acres and surrounded by the trees of Wareham Forest with direct access to its tracks, forest footpaths and cycle ways. It's an ideal location from which to enjoy and explore the Dorset countryside and the Jurassic Coast.
The park has a range of different pitch types including block-paved hard-standings with gravel areas for awnings, grass pitches, and some gravel pitches. You can choose from a fully serviced or electric hook up (10 amp) pitch, and there is plenty of space for tents.
Rallies are welcome and the site owners would be happy to discuss your requirements. Dogs are admitted if kept on a short lead.
Seasonal pitches (March to October) and short or long term caravan storage is available for customers who regularly use the park.
We are fully open from March to October, though our hard standing pitches are open over the winter months too, including Christmas and New Year.
We are located on a good, straight, unclassified road called the Bere Road, half way between Wareham and Bere Regis.
From Poole (A35/A351) or Dorchester/Wool (A352/A351), on the north side of the railway line at Wareham on A351, at the roundabout follow the road signposted Bere Regis. Follow the road down to a second roundabout take the third exit onto Bere Road. Follow Bere Road for about 2 miles, passing the Silent Woman pub on your left. Birchwood Tourist Park is the second Park along the road, being the first on the right hand side.
From Dorchester (A35) or Wimborne (A31), at the Bere Regis roundabout at the Shell Petrol Garage, take the A35 exit sign posted towards Poole. At the next smaller roundabout take the first exit. Follow the A35 towards Poole for about a mile. Turn right at the sign post to Wareham with a brown caravan sign (with three distances on it). This takes you off the A35 onto Sugar Hill, follow the long straight road (Bere Road) through the forest for nearly 3 miles. Birchwood Tourist Park is second Park along the road on the left hand side.
