Offering non electric grass pitches for tents and campervans, as well as unfurnished bell tents, this is the ideal base for exploring Dorset.

About the site


Set within 96 acres of countryside and woodland, just ten minutes from Wareham, this site offers an excellent Dorset getaway near top attractions, including Durdle Door (25 minutes). Alongside its scenic setting bordering the Dorset National Landscape, there are plenty of watersports and land-based activities suitable for all ages. Choose from spacious 5m x 9m non electric grass pitches for tents, with room for a gazebo and pup tent, or opt for a 9m x 6m non electric grass campervan pitch with awning space. If you prefer to travel light, opt for one of the unfurnished bell tents, which come with four single bed frames and mattresses. Simply bring your home comforts, including bedding, pillows, and cooking equipment. For those seeking a slower pace, start mornings with a coffee or tea from the site's tuckshop or explore one of the scenic trails that begin directly from the site. Enjoy a 30 minute bike ride to Carey's Secret Garden for a guided tour or workshop (pre-booking required), or visit Morden Bog Nature Reserve, home to some of England's rarest wildlife. Please note that this is a pet free site. BBQs and fire pits (availabe to hire) are welcome for those cosy evenings of al fresco dining. Please make sure they are raised off the ground.

Guests have access to a facilities block with toilets, showers, and an accessible bathroom. There is also an outdoor washing up area.

There's no shortage of activities onsite for a small charge, including a large multipurpose tower, abseil platform and zip lines. Watersport activities are also available, including canoeing, kayaking, and paddleboarding. For something a little different, there's archery, tomahawk throwing, team activities, and more!

At reception, a small tuck shop offers a selection of teas and coffee, and free WiFi is also available. Fire pits can be hired from the site.

For essentials, Sainsbury's is just a ten minute drive away. The Ship Inn is also a ten minute drive away, serving food and drinks.

* Check-in for camping, touring and bell tents is from 3pm until 9pm. Departure should be no later than 11am on your last day.

* Activities are subject to extra charges payable on arrival.

* BBQs are permitted as long as they are raised off the ground.

* Quiet hours are from 11pm until 7:30am.

* No vehicle movement from 11pm until 6am.

* Only one car by the pitch. Any extra vehicles must be parked in the designated area.

* Visitors must leave the site by 9pm.



Things to do on site and in the Wareham area

There is no shortage of land and water-based activities here, availabe for a small charge and suitable for all ages. Spend your days paddleboarding or canoeing, brave the abseil platform and high ropes, or try archery, disc golf, tomahawk throwing, and more. For something different, explore the scenic trails from the site, including a nightline sensory trail.

For family days out, Monkey World - Ape Rescue Centre is just ten minutes away, or head to Farmer Palmer's Farm Park (20 minutes) for farm animals, indoor and outdoor play areas, and woodland walks.

Other local attractions include Sculpture by the Lakes (10 minutes), The Blue Pool (15 minutes), and Kingston Maurward Animal Park and Gardens (25 minutes). The Dorset National Landscape can be reached within a ten minute drive, and the New Forest National Park is a 40 minute drive away for outdoor activities and wildlife.

History lovers will enjoy Corfe Castle, a 15 minute drive away, with its ruins, panoramic views, and wildlife walks. For a seaside escape, Bournemouth is 40 minutes away, offering piers, sandy beaches, the Oceanarium, shops and eateries.
