About Jurassic Camp

Situated on a rural farm, this tranquil site is far from the hustle and bustle, away from main roads, yet within easy reach to Dorset's stunning coastline, walks along the South West Coast Path, as well as family fun at Monkey World. The team on the farm here provide a warm welcome to campers, with a range of grass pitches catering to tents and campervans/motorhomes. There are also pitches designed to suit groups. Whilst on the farm you're sure to meet a variety of the animals onsite including Apollo the alpaca, sheep and chickens. Dogs are welcome here and must be kept on a lead. There are specific areas for large groups where noise is permitted up to a certain time, then you are asked to lower the volume to only be heard within your group. There is also a family camping for family groups especially those with children. Or for some peace, there is a quiet camping area, this does not mean it will be silent as there are other campers in adjacent fields. The site aims to not have noise coming from within this area, so while there may be noise on site, it shouldn't be right next to you.

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

Expensive for what it is. Too busy and too noisy for us and the toilets smelled and the bins were overflowing. Not the place to go if you want a quiet, relaxing weekend. We were very disappointed, arrived having pre-booked, but there were very limited places left to pitch. The site was clearly overbooked and the facilities could not cope with the number of visitors. The toilets smelled and there were swarms of flies around them. The bins were overflowing with wasps all over them. The site was noisy at night. A very disrespectful large group screaming and shouting into the early hours. A real shame because the site has so much potential. I feel that they need to reduce numbers and ban large groups.

Don’t go on a Bank Holiday weekend!

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Groups)Aug 2023

Booked for one night on the group side and one night on the family side, due to limited last minute availability. Turned up to find the whole field totally jam packed. Minimal space to park up our van other than by big groups with lots of cars, playing music that we did not want to hear. Didn't want to pitch an awning or tent, just a small space to put out our chairs, but no such luck. In fact, we left and parked up elsewhere on the coast for the first night! Second night there was no space at all in the quieter small group area, but we didn't bother questioning it after reading reviews of similar issues. Wedged ourselves on to the main field later in the evening. The owner has clearly just been greedy and maxed out on bookings for the weekend. Not relaxing at all. Had a shower which was fine, although classic flooding of all space outside. Toilets stank, with no toilet paper left by the following morning in the women's. Wouldn't return here, no view, nothing within walking distance. Certainly wouldn't pay £30 a night again. Camping should be a break from reality but this place was just like being back in the city.

Fantastic

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

We had a lovely stay, site was clean and tidy. The facilities were kept clean at all times. Play park on site and not far at all from Weymouth beach. Will definitely stay again. Added bonus, there is somewhere to charge phones etc.
