Boyd Valley Lake is a quiet, family-run site located halfway between Bristol and Bath. With a large onsite fishing lake, it's the ideal spot for families, anglers and those wildlife enthusiasts. The site offers non-electric camping and touring pitches on several camping fields, or you can camp in style with two bell tents. Sleep up to four each, these are great for a family gathering. Can be furnished at an additional cost.

Great little set up, and relax feeling. easy going. just felt the toilet and showers were a bit limited. 1 x wc / shower / wash basin for men. I believe 2 w.c / 1x shower for ladies. and don't forget your mosquito repellent. as your amongst lakes. but quite clearly they are making improvements. all the time!

This site is fantastic! With a range of fields you can choose from a range a views and range of distances from the facilities. The family who own and run the site are very welcoming and helpful, and will happily tell you lots about the area and its history. The location of the site itself provides an easy walk into a lovely town called Bitton. You can also walk to quite a few shops if you don't mind the longer trek. Otherwise, these are all in an easy drive. Bristol is also in an easily drivable distance. The toilets and shower are kept well cleaned and the shower is lovely and refreshing. Couldn't have asked for better!

Arrived and set up our tent. The gentleman who runs it arrived and made sure we had everything we needed. He was very friendly and helpful. Toilets and shower okay.

Pretty enough little campsite in a nice rural spot but the toilets/showers let it down. Fine if you have your own.

We were a little skeptical due to the price, but it turned out to be one of the best value holidays we’ve ever taken. Site manager went above and beyond to make sure we knew everything we needed to know and had everything we needed. Thanks Pete for a perfect stay!

A friendly and welcoming owner and a great location with a nicely landscaped site, making for plenty of private pitches. It was a lovely place to spend a couple of wet and windy July nights. Many thanks!!

Stayed for just one night. The positives were that this is a very basic site. No frills, no site "police", very relaxed and very quiet. It was nice to hear the local wildlife, donkeys and horses nearby. A very good sleep. the negatives and improvements for me were that it was not the greatest first impression, with containers dotted around the site and overall unkept appearance of the site. Lack of maintenance. No hot water in women's showers (early evening). Slight smell from the toilet area. I won't return but if you're fishing and want a stay over it's okay. This site has potential though..

Had a short stay which will rank as one of the best. Had a very special weekend that will stay in our memories for a very long time. My 8 year old made several friends and they chased each other with games throughout our stay. This is a family campsite where you don't get tv's and radios blaring - just the sound of children playing or the wildlife sounds around you. Quiet hours between 10 and 7 were respected. I learnt to fish and the owner Peter gave me some patient guidance on what to do and what not to do but I caught 10 silvers throughout the afternoon. I'll go for the carp once I have some experience behind me! The lakes were full of wildlife which my son and I spent some time together identifying. BBQ in the evening. The site is made up of a few smaller enclosures which was a really good set up. The facilities are basic but as they don't offer to be anything more I thought this was fair. A WC and hot shower was good enough for us. However value for money was very high indeed. Will definitely visit again. (Ps. 7 miles from Bath).

The campsite is rural so feels quite wild, however there is lots to access within driving distance. The lakes are very pretty and stocked with fish. My husband had a go and it was busy. Worth remembering that you need to pay for fishing. Campsite rules are clear and mean this is an ideal site for families. Quiet time after 10, fire pits available for rent. Pitches are large and accessible. Drinking water available. The toilet blocks are minimal. I like the fact that the hand wash and toilet paper is provided. I do however think they could have been cleaner. I saw people cleaning them, but because they were heavily used they got mucky. We would definitely stay here again. The bell tent area looked lush and we would like to try those. Dog friendly. You can see and hear wildlife. We stayed on the campsite all weekend and chilled, shops nearby to buy provisions. Recycling and bin area available. This was emptied regularly.

Went and picked up a tent from the owner, had a great chat, the location is unbelievable and they clearly put a lot of time and effort into it.

A lovely setting, quiet and remote, with amazing bird life to be seen. The facilities are basic and we were glad to have a motorhome with toilet on board. We appreciate we were not visiting in the season, so facilities were perhaps not operating to fully. The site is located down narrow roads, and as we arrived in the dark, and with no electricity on site, we could not easily locate where things were. A quick call to the office give us instructions of where we could park. A friendly welcome.

This place is just a bit odd. Its in a handy location for a quick night out and consists of a fishing lake (which is obviously the cherished part of the establishment, not that the water looks remotely enticing to sit next to!), plus 3 other areas and a "glamping" area. The fields are not level, not mowed, hedges untrimmed and of a very difficult layout for camping fields. The facilities consist of a toilet and shower each for ladies and gents. Cars came and went late into the night. Throughout the site there appears to be random areas of scrap/rubbish/storage containers piled up, which you cut really get away from. Where there isn't this kind of thing there piles of soil or stones. For what we paid, we've had much more in terms of facilities, location or appearance - or all three! Oh, and the wood supplied was wet and smoked terribly!

Could do with somewhere to wash dishes. Other than that, it was pretty good.

A random campsite, not yet cared for! Strange set up. No working sinks, sign says "under construction". No problem fill your washing up bowl from the showers. The showers/toilets were not to the highest standard and smelt strongly. No ticket system, meant daily checks from the warden! Poor.

Very basic campsite. Was quiet and had a lake. Good recycling of waste. Had clean drinking water. Chemical waste disposal was a normal toilet so lots of splashing! Showers were cold and needed another clean. Didn't see any places for fires. Arrived late so had to park in gravel car park. Didn't have time but would like to have walked around the site and lake.
