Fantastic camping site

Our 1st trip in our caravan, pitch was great, site clean and well laid out, nice bar and restaurant.

Superb stay

We've just returned from a two night stay and wish we had time to stay longer. Our pitch was a lovely size and due to its position we had no direct neighbours. The showers and toilets are an excellent standard and kept clean. The little shop has all you need and Ben's bar is a beautiful place to sit on a warm summers evening - especially if fish and chips are available (Fridays). Plenty of facilities for children and dogs - everyone one is catered for. Site rules where adhered to which meant for a long peaceful evening and a good nights sleep.

Norfolk wildlife

The road was very noisy and busy making it quite hard to cross, even though the pub and village were near, it was easier to go in by car. The site was lovely, spaces did feel a bit packed together making it a little difficult if you wanted privacy. But it was a good base to travel out from and so much wildlife to watch.

This was one of the nicest sites we have been on yet

There was a warm welcome and all the staff their were pleasant and friendly and really loved their jobs. This is a family owned site. The shower block was more like a wet room, with 80s music playing & very clean. Bens bar was a lovely touch and had a larger menu on a Friday and Saturday, which we enjoyed. Prices were also reasonable. We had a great 8 days there. It was a short walk to village and we caught the bus to Hunstanton, which ran every 20 minutes or so. There was a large Coop in the Village and you could get deliveries to the site too, if you were there a bit longer. Will be returning soon. They are also open 12 months of the year.

Won't become a favourite

Firstly, some context, we all have different views and likes. We have stayed over 25 sites in Norfolk and Suffolk in past 18 months, Some great, other's not out thing, this was the latter of the two. We have a VW camper and our ideal is a site where we can chill out for the day, watch the wildlife, listen to the birds or explore locally so this seemed to fit the bill. The staff were lovely, the bar nice and the shower facilities pretty good although I think they may have been a sewer problem. We were allocated a pitch with a hard standing, I did contact the site and checked if there was a grass area to pitch our driveaway awning and was told there was. Unfortunately it wasn't the case, so disappointed upon arrival. We arrived 8pm and thought there may be another pitch available, called the reception number on our leaflet, no answer, no out of hours contact. Nevermind. Pitching our awning up on gravel was a new experience, felt like camping on a car park and not really for us. Luckily, we had a picnic bench on a small grass area so that made it nicer. The site is located parallel to the main route into Hunstanton, I noticed in previous reviews the mention of noise but didn't expect it to be so bad, I guess this time of year people heading to the coast, pretty constant through to early hours and then first thing, a shame. Not really a back to nature experience. Having said that, if you are looking to drop a caravan and have days out on the coast or a visit to Sandringham, then this site may suit as its on the road that will take you there - just a bit too close for our liking. Its not a site for a peaceful getaway in beautiful surroundings of which there are so many in this area. The bins unfortunately were overflowing and the rubbish stacking up, overdue emptying. Given the hot weather, the wasps were having fun though. Café and bar shut promptly at 9pm, friendly staff and warm welcome. Due to the above, we opted to get off site during the day returning late evening, so we had a good break just not what we had envisaged. Perhaps our own fault for selecting the wrong site. Like I said, if you're looking to drop a caravan and have days out in the car, give it a go. This may be right up your street, just not ours.

Unfortunately due to the weather we do not have much grass at all on site, unfortunately this is beyond our control, we do have noticed around the site explaining that we have had very little rain fall in the area over the last couple of months. Outside office hours we have a bell outside reception for emergencies. Unfortunately some people are disturbed by the road noise, but it is in the address that we are on the A149 bypass, many people however after a couple of hours on site do not notice it. The bar shuts a 9pm due to our low noise policy which comes into effect at 9.15pm, it would be very unfair if we set the rules and do not abide by them ourselves. Our bins are emptied twice a week, but when we are really busy as we have been they do tend to fill us quickly so we occasionally have to get extra collections especially after the weekends. Good site, good amenities, staffing problems in the kitchen

Shame there was no chef to cook food on the Saturday night. Reception were great, really informative.

Great site

Great stay but a bit noisy from the road, which can't be helped. Showers hit and miss. 2 days stay, lukewarm water. Nice site. Love the little club house although on arrival, it was closed in the evening and on Wednesday, open until 9 but no food being served. Make sure that you take food with you. There is a menu for fish and chips etc to be delivered from Dersingham. I would stay again as I enjoyed it.

We did have a problem with the boiler, so unfortunately it did make the water cooler than normal, but this problem was rectified as soon as it was noticed. Highly recommended

Very happy with our stay here. Helpful, friendly reception. Glamping pod very clean, good location towards the back of the site but close to bathrooms (very clean) and washing up/laundry block. As noted by others, low level noise from the A149 but didn't disturb either of us. Great location for days out on North Norfolk beaches or Sandringham. Also close to Kings Lynn.

Location, location, location

Many reviews refer to the traffic noise and, yes, it was a busy road but we went with that knowledge and just accepted it. It's all about the location for us and this was perfect, just a 30 minute wander to the Sandringham Estate and a 10 minute drive to the beautiful beaches at Old Hunstanton and Holme. We could have walked to Snettisham beach which would have taken about an hour but it was just way too hot! The site was very reasonably priced, had all necessary amenities including a small bar and café, and the staff were all very helpful and friendly.

Great spot for camping

Great campsite in a great location, with plenty to do in and around. Dog friendly. On check in, we were greeted with a welcome pack of dog treats and route maps for walks nearby. Site was well maintained, great facilities for showering and a great bar area. Very impressed.

Get away

Ben bar and take away very good, the food was piping hot and very good. The whole park was very clean, we would definitely use this site again if we were coming that way again.

Great family run site

Great family run site, facilities spotless, little bar to visit, Plenty to do in area, pitches ample in size. Would come back anytime Thanks all.

Perfect

2nd visit, still impressed with how well run, clean and friendly the site is. Individual shower/ toilet rooms ( very clean), Bar / food available ( weekends) at very reasonable prices. Dog walkers paradise, long or short walks ( given maps at reception of different walks)..

Another fantastic start at Pinecones

We stayed here first the first time in Feb this year, when it was bitterly cold & snowing & loved it so booked to come back in the summer & what a contrast this weekend was. Excellent location with Sandringham less than a half hour walk, through the forest (not along the road) & the beach just under an hour walk & about half hour more to get to the sandy beaches. The village is a lovely 10-15 min walk where there are 2 pubs with outdoor areas and dog friendly. We've v always found the site to be very clean, facilities great, although didn't get to use the on site bar this time. Staff Always very friendly and helpful. We had a serviced pitch, which was hard standing, very level and our own space and divides between our neighbours, plus a picnic bench which we used for breakfast and dinner each day. I've also recommended it to my cousin who is looking into getting a moho/van but renting one for a week, he's booking here for a couple of days. We'll definitely return, so much to see & do & we feel happy, comfortable and relaxed at this site. Well done & thank you Pinecones.

We have had a great 2 weeks at this site

We have had a great 2 weeks at this site, lovely bay for parking with piles of room. Toilets very clean and modern. The site is quiet except for the road running alongside the caravan park although we ended up getting used to it. Loved our holiday plenty of walks from caravan park. Little villages which surround it are fab and nearly all have a little coffee shop. Hunstanton, which is nearby, was fabulous and on Sundays they have open air band stand music which is on the front overlooking the sea. Sorry to be going home.

Norfolk has to best of everything from a town call Kings Lynn in one direction, Dersingham village which is nearby and in another direction beach after beach along the coastal road. All in all, very good. Just 1 little thing, shame pub was closed when we arrived, as it was closed at 3pm.

Relaxed friendly site

We had a lovely stay here. Great facilities, spacious pitch and a welcoming vibe. Home from home, bathroom facilities were appreciated. Lots of footpaths for walking from the site, walking distance from Sandringham and the village pubs.

2 night stay

This site is amazing. It is really clean and has everything you need including a freezer to refreeze the blocks. We loved the coloured lights on the showers and my husband enjoyed the 'best pizza he's ever had' from Ben's Bar. Thank you everyone for a fabulous stay.

Solo camping

Great friendly site excellent value for money. Lovely small bar and choice of snacks and a few meals.

Great site

With the exception of the midge flies in the night, it's a great way for the family. To get away without breaking the bank. Facilities were super clean and full working order.

Happy camper

Great place to stay with very helpful staff. Has everything you need and the dogs loved it, plenty of places to walk in the surrounding area. Will definitely stay again if in the area.

Lovely site

Just had a lovely week at pinecones. It's situated close to Sandringham and a couple of miles from Hunstanton, and only 15 mins drive to the outskirts of Kings Lynn for all the major supermarkets. The site staff are very welcoming on arrival, the site is clean and tidy with some minor works taking place in the camping field to resurface the road. The facilities are modern and clean and are individual so sink, shower and toilet in one. The shower can be a little fiddley at first but there are instructions and it's easy when you know how. A little pub on site sells a range of your favourites and you can order food as well. Check the bar opening times as its not open every weeknight, or it wasn't when we was there. Overall a lovely little camp site lots of walks and places to visit we will be going back.

Our visit

Arrived and self checked in. First impressions disappointing as this has been in top 10 sites in caravan magazine and really needs a good spruce up around the grounds. Toilets/showers clean and well decorated. Bar opened during the day, except Sunday and Monday till 3pm and then only open in evening Friday and Saturday despite Sky Sports being a big advertising draw. Location good and nice walk to Sandringham.

Reasonably happy camper

The sandy acres camping field looks neglected and is in desperate need of some upkeep. Every pitch is full of hollows and very uneven. The emphasis has obviously been spent on the hard standings for caravans and campervans. Although we were happy with the facilities, I wouldn't recommend this campsite for camping.
