Lovely stay at a lovely site

We very much enjoyed our two night stay in the tent. The site is well thought out with clean facilities. The welcome at reception was lovely and the staff friendly. We have a dog, for which the site was very accommodating. Well thought out facilities for the dogs, including an off lead area and special drinking area, and lovely walks just out of the site, towards the village and beach. Thank you, we hope to be back soon!

Good as a base only to explore northern Norfolk

Our stay at Pinecones was pretty good with a few snags that would have been good to be aware of before we booked, so I'm writing this review with that in mind. It's not that Pinecones is a bad campsite or anything like that, it just wasn't quite the place for us. Good bits were the accessibility to north Norfolk coast. Good price. Great individual shower and toilet blocks. Nice atmosphere among campers (well, most campers!). Beautiful view from Sandy Acres (the camping only part of the site). Shop and small takeaway on site (we didn't use either so can't comment, but there's one there). Really easy check in. The road noise that's mentioned by all wasn't too bad from Sandy Acres, which is further away from the bypass. However, if you're on one of the hardstanding surface pitches, you run the risk of being right near the bypass & the noise, or on one of the pitches directly adjacent to the toilet/shower blocks. The not-so-good bits. The camping plots of Sandy Acres were really tightly packed and marked by 4 posts, meaning you had zero privacy. Obviously, it's camping so you expect neighbours, but the plots in the middle block of pitches were back to back. I think the campsite could benefit from planting something or a hedge down the middle of the central block of pitches to stop people walking right through/behind your camp. It also means that if you were unlucky enough to get a noisy neighbour, then you've got no option but to listen to them all night long. There's supposed to be no noise after 10.30pm - this isn't policed, so your typical selfish campers that you can sometimes get just talk, drink and cackle away. The ground where you pitch is pretty poor quality and some pitches have no grass whatsoever. Considering the site is on the side of a bypass where you can't just nip into the nearest village, we thought the site had quite limited facilities. There's no open space for kids to play, just a playground that again, was totally unsupervised. It would be nice if the site had some more open space where children could play or a better range of facilities. So that's Pinecones. It's good if you're out and about lots and want to use it as a base. Not so good if you're hoping to sit and relax at the site because of the lack of space and the noise. We will probably opt for a more rural, quieter site next time to suit us better, but if you're look for a campsite where there's a buzz and you want easy access to north Norfolk, this is the place for you.

It is accepted that the pitches have had a lot of use this summer, in what has been inclement weather, and will benefit from our annual end of session levelling, fertilizing and re seeding, making them pristine for the start of next session. We do have grass fully serviced dura clean pitches on our Pineviews area of the site. These have dura clean pads for tents and awnings to go on that are small Granit stone, so eliminating the inevitable wear on grass as the session progresses. These pitches all have privacy hedges between them. We hope this covers your points made. Thank you, Martin.

Amazing

Wow, the best and most organised campsite by far... Shower block just great, not expecting a shower, sink and toilet with added music, great touch. The catering for dogs is also fantastic. Reception staff also well worth a mention, she was so informative. Can't wait to return.

Lovely site, clean and surprisingly quiet

Lovely site, very clean facilities. Was quiet even with kids about, which was a worry of mine. Lovely area, and right on the main road so easy access. Only issue was found the pitches close together. Pitch opposite was empty on arrival, otherwise would've probably had to use the motor mover.

Really lovely site!

Great site in a really fabulous location. Pitches are sizeable, they do all seem to dip in the middle a little causing some water collection underneath when it's rained. We did have some flooding coming up through the tent, but only realised when we were packing up. The neighbouring pitch also had this issue. The facilities were very clean and well maintained. The private toilet and shower cubicles were a particular favourite of ours! My children especially loved the radio playing and rainbow light shower heads! Washing up facilities also very clean! We ventured out each day to a number of different places. The Old Hunstanton beach is lovely and dog friendly all year around and about 15 mins away. Our favourite to visit was Brancaster though which was about 25 mins away. Also dog friendly! We walked from the campsite to Snettisham beach one day which on Google maps says 1hr 20 mins. It took us much longer, but an absolutely beautiful walk through the fields. You can access this path right from the campsite. Visiting Sandringham was another favourite with our children and dogs - the park is wonderful and it's so so close! We had a really great stay and would definitely recommend this site. Perfect for families, very welcoming and approachable staff. Perfect location for the surrounding area, everything in less than 1hr distance from the site.

Worth a stay

Overall, we were happy with the campsite. Our only comments would be that, when it's busy, you may feel a bit crammed in. The shop, although limited in items, does provide free ice! It would also be helpful if they opened again after 3pm, maybe from 5-7?

Lovely stay

Really nice site. Friendly lady on reception, nice large pitch with wood shelter, clean bathrooms, tasty food at Norfolk Nibbles. Would definitely revisit this site.

Fantastic site, would highly recommend and we will be staying again in the future

We stayed here recently and were blown away at the standard of clean facilities, beautiful pitches and super friendly staff. If you want to chill away for a few days or have a family trip, this camp suits everyone and we would highly recommend.

An excellent site to stay and explore the local countryside

A great camp site with excellent facilities. Ideally located for exploring the Royal Estate of Sandringham. Hunstanton is only 7 miles away via Norfolk Lavender which is well worth a visit. Travelling further afield, Cromer is always worth a visit and so is Holkham Beach and Hall. The road can be a bit noisey at times but come bed time it is quiet. Would definately stay there again and recommend the site to friends and family.

Great facilities and lovely walks from the site

Well equipped and thought out site. Perfect for dog owners as everything has been thought about. Some noise from the main road but didn't affect us. We'll be back.

Short break

Overall, a good site. Staff are very friendly and extremely helpful and welcoming. Sandringham was a short walk away through a mostly wooded area. On one walk, we spotted a Red kite.

Great weekend!

We are first time Campervanners and used this location as just far enough away from home to be an adventure. Being a self built van, I was slightly worried snobbery might be an issue but I have to say, from the minute we arrived, the staff were very welcoming and everything was explained to us, a welcome pack provided and the guy gave us five minutes to park up before popping over to make sure we had everything we needed before wishing us a great stay. The site provisions were great from catering in evenings to spotless toilets/ showers. Loved the idea of a complete bathroom facility , warm, clean, well lit at night. Great walks to take and just very chilled. Thank you all for a lovely stay and it was good to feel included by other campers, We will definitely be back.

Great campsite

Great site. Friendly, helpful staff. Good facilities that make your stay easier whilst camping. Washing up room, laundry room, dog wash area, blue waste disposal and good individual shower/toilet facilities. All are very clean and well-maintained. All berths have water, electricity and grey waste outlets. Very dog friendly, a lot of guests had dogs. Close to the coast, 10 minute drive at most. Would stay again.

Lovely park and staff, only downside is the road noise but it didn't keep us awake. I would recommend this site and would definitely stay again.

Great site with excellent facilities

We arrived late and there is a self service check in which contained details of the barrier code and pictures pitch. I found this to be great as we knew we would be late arriving. The site has great take away food facilities if you don't fancy cooking. The pitch was level, had electric and water and also a picnic bench. The pitch itself are a good size so that you don't feel on top of each other. Washrooms were very clean and had the toilet, sink and shower all together. It didn't matter what time of day you visited them, they were kept clean. Location was next to a busy road, but you couldn't hear the traffic and excellent to just walk out of the site onto footpaths in the countryside. I would definitely recommend this site in a great location close to the beach.

Nice campsite

Shower blocks are very good. Well-stocked shop. Nibbles has good food. Our pitch was a good pitch, my only criticism is that everyone allows their dog to fowl on the corner pitch opposite (where the logs are). Not nice when you are cooking or eating. Apart from that, all good. Would go again.

Great stay

We've just stayed here and would love to go back again! The staff were very friendly and helpful, the facilities were great and the location was perfect. There are loads of places to go within a short drive. The site was very busy when we arrived and there were lots of families and despite this, it was still quiet and clean. The only things that could be improved in my opinion would be to have some shelving in the bathrooms to put toiletries on and it would be useful to have the laundry room open for longer, so we could access the freezer for our ice blocks. Apart from that, everything was fab!

Great site

We had a great stay, perfect location for country walking to the beach and through the forest to Sandringham. Staff were very friendly and we liked the modern shower rooms with toilets in each room. Being a bank holiday, the site was full and the shower rooms were cleaned twice a day which was good. The onsite takeaway is fantastic if you don't want to cook. A full English breakfast is very reasonably priced. We will certainly visit again.

Great site

Lovely site with great facilities, will definitely return.

Lovely, relaxed stay

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, very nice lady booked us in on arrival and gave us simple instructions on how to get to our pitch and terms and conditions. From the moment we pitched up, we were relaxed and ready to enjoy our stay. Pitches were very spacious with hardstanding, grassed areas and picnic bench. Buddy our retriever enjoyed his long walks and we enjoyed relaxing in the sun. Facilities were very clean and always free whenever we went for a shower.

Oak Pod

Great overall. I would say to staff cleaning to check who is staying as our fridge was emptied and our stuff was chucked away.
