About Macbeth's Hillock

Glamping pods set where Shakespeare's Macbeth is said to have met the three witches who told of his rise to become king, but also of his coming death. It's within an hour of lots of great distilleries, only a short drive from beaches and dolphin spotting along the coast. Cruises and Nessie-spotting at Loch Ness are within a 45 minute drive. There are five ensuite pods here, each sleeping four people with a proper double bed, single bed and pull out bed included. Each pod's kitchen area is kitted out with a two ring hob, fridge, pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and glasses. They have electric heaters so you will be comfortable in them all year round.

Macbeth's Hillock is open from 01/03 to 31/10.

Facilities and amenities

Each glamping pod is self contained with an en-suite shower room and kitchen area. A BBQ grill, fire pit and picnic table are provided for each pod. A small shop has wood and charcoal for fires and barbecuing as well as a few snacks and drinks.

The 1645 Inn is around three miles from site. Nairn is a 10 minute drive away, with shops, restaurants and takeaways.

A note from the site themselves...

First off, let me introduce the team. There's George, who used to be away from home for long stretches, but now he's back with us, taking care of all the day-to-day stuff. Then there's me, Karen, the brains behind Macbeth Bookkeeping Solutions trying to keep everything running smoothly.

Arran, well, he's the tech wizard of the family, always making sure everything's shipshape on the computer front. And last but not least, we've got Luke, who's all about our furry and feathered friends.

Speaking of animals, we've got some land set aside for our four-legged and feathered pals. You'll find a bunch of hens clucking around, some friendly sheep that might just fancy a little scratch behind the ears, and occasionally, some cute piggy faces. When spring rolls around, our hillock comes alive with playful lambs leaping around - it's a real sight to see.

We've also set up a special area with trees and wild grass to create a cosy little habitat for wildlife. So, if you're a nature enthusiast, you're in for a treat. We can't wait to welcome you here for your camping adventure. See you soon!

Pod - Mini Lodge PodsOct 2023

Macbeth's Hillock is a joy and a real gem. The pods are well built, have great facilities inside (everything you need), spacious enough to be comfortable (I'm 6'5 and had zero issues and no head bangs) and spotlessly clean. There is a lot of space outside the pod which was great as we had our dog with us. The entire area is clean, tidy and well maintained. The car parking and footpath access is excellent. The location is well sign posted and easy to access from the main road. The owners were friendly and helpful with some useful communication during our trip. I highly recommend Macbeth's Hillock to anyone looking for a glamping pod in the Moray area.
