About the site


Tucked away on the shores of Gruinard Bay along the NC500, this small family-run park offers a peaceful escape surrounded by some of the Highlands' best scenery. With mountains, beaches and sunsets right on your doorstep, it's the ideal place to enjoy the fresh sea air and leave the everyday buzz behind. There are 35 pitches in total, welcoming touring caravans, motorhomes and tents. Guests can choose from grass or hardstanding pitches, with some enjoying stunning views across the bay. The tent areas are separate from the touring pitches, and each has fencing for extra privacy and shelter, with space to park your car. Holiday homes are also available. This is the ideal base for wild swimming and spotting surrounding wildlife along the bay. Keep an eye out for otters, dolphins, seals and a variety of seabirds! For those bringing their own equipment, the park offers great opportunities for water sports, including sailing, water skiing and scuba diving. Anglers can also enjoy fishing in the burns that wind through the site. Laide is a five minute walk away, with a well-stocked village shop, post office and filling station for added convenience. Dogs are welcome. BBQs must be raised off the ground. Open fires are not permitted.

Guests have access to men's and women's toilet and shower blocks. A dedicated accessible wetroom is also available with ramp access. There are two washing up sinks with hot water, a laundry area with a coin-operated washing machine and dryer, and USB charging points. WiFi is available in selected areas across the park.

A small burn runs through the site, offering opportunities for fishing, although any trout caught must be returned.

For essentials, Laide Post Office, General Store and Filling Station are a five minute walk away. For food and drink, the Ocean View Hotel is a ten minute walk away or the Aultbea Hotel and Jam Jar Bar is a ten minute drive away.

Things to do on site and in the Laide area

The bay beside the site offers great watersports opportunities, including wild swimming, scuba diving, water skiing and more! Anglers can also make use of the burns that wind through the site, stocked with trout.

From Gairloch Harbour, 30 minutes away, boat trips offer the chance to spot seals, dolphins and, if you're lucky, even a whale or two! For a relaxed day by the sea, Gruinard Beach is just a ten minute drive away and is a great dog friendly spot to enjoy by the coastline.

Nature lovers can explore the surrounding landscapes, including the Inverewe Garden (15 minutes), where you can wander through the botanical gardens. Ardessie Falls offers a scenic woodland walk and impressive waterfalls.

There are plenty of museums and galleries to explore, including the Arctic Convoy Museum (10 minutes), Gairloch Museum (25 minutes) and Solas Gallery, 30 minutes away.
