About Seven Acre Woods

Escape to this peaceful campsite, nestled in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Battle. With a no-music policy that respects the harmony of nature, you and your fellow cabiners, glampers, and campers can fully enjoy the setting and outdoor life. Situated on the outskirts of the ancient Brede High Woods, a Woodland Trust site spanning 657 acres and surrounding the picturesque Powdermill Reservoir, you will be treated to stunning views and scenery. The site offers just four grass pitches with electric hook up and a fire pit for tents only. For something more comfortable, choose the cosy glamping tents, including the Mole Hill Glamping Tent and the Mouse Nook Glamping Tent, which both sleep up to four. Both tents are in a small, quiet grass area with double beds, electric with fairy lighting, cool box, outdoor table bench, chairs with table, fire pit with grill and more. Just don't forget to bring bedding and cooking supplies (can be added on for an additional fee). The Badgers Burrow Hut is set in a secluded private area with a double bed and floor space for a travel cot or air bed. You will be supplied with cooking utensils, crockery, cool box, an indoor table, chairs and solar lighting. Outside is a kitchen prep area, BBQ/fire pit, decking area and seating. You may choose to cosy up with a book, have fun with board games from The Cubby, take a walk from the footpath through the Ancient Wood or simply relax and listen and watch the wildlife around you whilst relaxing around your fire pit with a cup of something delicious. If you're looking for a party atmosphere, this site is not for you. But if you want to time away from the hustle and spend quality time with family and friends doing as much or as little as you wish, then you've come to the right place. The site welcomes all those who want time away (including your furry family members!) to experience the rustic yet real charm of outdoor life, who respect and appreciate the great outdoors! You'll find stunning woodland walks directly from your doorstep or canvas door via the public footpath that runs through Seven Acre Woods. These walks can take you around the Reservoir, to the Village or a loop around ancient history, taking in the wildlife and fauna known in these woodlands. Dogs are welcome, however, not in glamping accommodation.

Seven Acre Woods is open from 28/03 to 30/09.

A note from the site themselves...

Camping is what we have always loved to enjoy with family and friends, and we've had many a tent before we upgraded to a classic old motorhome for a little more 'luxury'!

We loved just to get up and go! Over the last few years of camping, we decided we wanted land, woodlands, and beautiful surroundings, and we wanted to run our own place for others to come camp, glamp and cabin!

Here is a place for relaxing, recharging, exploring and enjoying in an area where you can do so with ease and welcome the nature and beauty of where we are and what we have around us is top on the agenda.

From wild garlic and bluebells in the spring to the changing trees and bursting wild mushrooms throughout the seasons, along with sightings of deer, wild rabbits, pheasants, and kestrels, the natural beauty and wildlife are captivating here.

We live and work onsite at Seven Acre Woods and are proud of what our dream has become. We hope your stay with us will be a dream for you, and we look forward to welcoming you when you stay!

Woodland Life is certainly the way of life here!

Steve, Ruth and Harrison

Medium Tent - Electric Grass PitchesSep 2023

Really enjoyed our one-night stay at Seven Acre Woods. It was my son's first camping experience, and I really appreciated the kid-friendly attitude. We enjoyed exploring the 'Kidz Wood', and appreciated the quiet, relaxed atmosphere promoted by the park and embraced by the other visitors.

Bell Tent - Glamping Bell TentsSep 2023

We did a 1 night stay in the glamping bell tent. We were really lucky and had the area to ourselves. We had a 30 second stroll to enter the woods, which was beautiful. There was lots of natural handmade kid games and a play area, which was great for my son aged 4. There is an honesty shop for items you have forgotten and fire pits you can pick up and place near the tents. They had two rescue goats, which my son was able to feed, which made his morning. All In all, a lovely place to visit and would come again. I will definitely be checking out the huts for our next visit, they look unreal and all handmade by the owner. Can imagine them being magical in winter near Christmas 🎄

Site's response

Thank you for reviewing and so pleased you had a good time and found so much to enjoy with all we had here to offer. It's a shame we didn't score 5 star in all areas, but we would hope you would still return for that Cabin maybe! Steve, Ruth & Harrison.

Amazing, cosy and friendly

Large Tent - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

This is an amazing little camping gem found. We are a family of 4 (9 and teen) and had a great time. Goat feeding for free, lots of rustic homemade wooden games for the whole family, kids woods for den building and other things too. Toilets and showers were always clean which was great. Friendly lovely staff lived on site and were always available between 9-5 if needed. Will come again and bring a larger family group next time.

Site's response
