About Blacklands Farm Caravan and Camping

This spacious campsite is ideal for families and small family groups. Home to a giant play park where kids can run free and stay busy for hours, parents have the opportunity to relax and enjoy the rural ambience. In the warmer season, there are around 200 pitches split over two distinct fields. The playground field is home to the central shower and toilet facilities, along with the campsite reception, onsite shop, and the children's play park. The second field, called the paddocks field, has it's own satellite toilet and shower units and is closer to the fishing lakes. The paddocks is more suitable for family groups than the playground field. Pick between non electric and 10 amp electric grass pitches, both suitable for tents, campervans, caravans and motorhomes. During the off peak season there are 20 hardstanding electric pitches in the playground field for tourers. The reception is generally closed in the off-peak season, but a warden remains permanently on site, and the playground is generally open (weather permitting). For anyone wishing to try their hand at fishing, there is a large lake and several smaller ponds available for the use of guests only. On busy summer weekends, the fishing warden offers lessons to novices also. Why not hire a fire pit when booking and join all the other campers roasting sausages and marshmallows over the embers as the sun goes down. BBQs are also welcome as long as they are raised from the ground. Well behaved dogs are welcome, provided they are kept on a lead at all times.

Grass pitches for tents and tourers are only open from May until September. The hardstanding touring pitches are available all year round, please note, that the shop and reception building will be closed from October until Easter.

Facilities and amenities

Shared facilities include toilets and hot showers across the site, with hair dryers, baby changing facilities and disabled access. A coin operated washing machine and dryer are available, as well as hot water washing up sinks.

The toilets and shower blocks are heated, but may feel cold should the weather be particularly cold.

There are drinking water taps close to every pitch, as well as power sockets in reception.

For kids, there is a fenced large playground, a ping-pong table, table football and an area with football goal posts. The communal marquee has seating for everyone to use, and a screen for events.

Fishing is a main attraction, with a number of very well-stocked lakes and ponds available exclusively for the use of guests. In warmer periods, the fishing warden is available for fishing lessons for novices.

Feel free to book to hire a fire pit when booking, and then stock up on kindling, fire lighters, logs or charcoal from the wood store at reception on arrival.

The farm's country shop is well-stocked with fresh local produce, wood, kindling, and groceries. The shop also serves hot drinks, ice cream, and more. Note however, that the shop and reception building are shut from October until May.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Paddock)Aug 2024

Our first time here and we LOVED it! So family-friendly and great facilities. We are coming back in 2 weekends time and will definitely be regulars from now on! Staff are so helpful, and always around and the kids loved the park/shop and all the exploring they could wish for!

Single Axle Caravan - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Paddock)Aug 2024

Campsite well run, great facilities in a modest, wholesome style. Staff were very friendly, however, the campsites booking site was although very thorough, it was difficult to get responses or answers to queries or individual needs.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Paddock)Aug 2024

Lovely place with amazing atmosphere. Lots of space even in the busy period. My family and I really enjoyed spending a long weekend at this campsite. Highly recommend for families. Huge space to play, walk or fish. Rules are a bit strict, especially on campfires (with open fires only after 6pm) as I love cooking breakfast, lunch or dinner on open fire, but rules are rules. 😅 Bathrooms and toilets can be cleaned better and more often, especially in the busy periods. Overall, was a fantastic camp and we came home with lots of memories. 🙂 Thank you.
