About Cattlestone Farm

A rustic, welcoming working farm site in West Sussex set amongst 70 acres of wild-flower meadows. Surrounded by woodland, there's plenty to play and explore. With abundant wildlife, footpaths, and country pubs nearby, there's no better place to unwind. The camping site sits on eight acres, suitable for tents and touring. With only ten pitches available, choose where suits you best and enjoy all the space. Shared facilities are nearby. As for glamping, this sits in a separate field where there are three beautifully furnished bell tents to choose from. Each has a theme from the meadow flowers, Speedwell (blue), Foxglove (pastel) and Celandine (gold). All are complete with luxury king size air mattresses, seating, fridge and kettle. Alternatively, there's the quaint Shepherd's Hut. You also have access to a private bathroom to yourself nearby. Explore the South Downs National Park 20 minutes away or local villages such as Petworth before heading back to toast those marshmallows. Don't forget to look up at the stars on a clear night! Dogs are welcome in the camping field only. Dogs are not permitted in the glamping units.

Cattlestone Farm is open from 31/05 to 30/09.

A note from the site themselves...

Cattlestone is a fourth generation farm. Since taking on the reins in 2022, the aim has been to regenerate and diversify without spoiling the natural beauty of the farm and its resident wildlife. Alan and Donna have introduced a herd of highland cows, pigs and pygmy goats who are all very friendly and love nothing better than a good fuss and the odd apple or pear.

It is a great place to immerse yourself in the peace and tranquillity of the countryside, yet is within easy access to beautiful local towns and villages and plenty of attractions. You can be assured of a very warm welcome here, Donna

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Aug 2023

A lovely 'wild camp' feel to camping in this mown/bits left wild, field with fantastic open countryside views, starry skies and no noise. The hosts are lovely and friendly; they saved me from what could have been a miserable experience by lending me a bit of very necessary kit that was missing from my own stash! The animals on the farm and Jackson, the rescue dog, all seen and very much admired. Useful things like frozen ice packs to borrow whilst your own are in the camp freezer on site, refreezing was very welcome. It's a great set up and wish we could have stayed longer as the location is also great for exploring. Loved it - thank you! We'll be back.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent Pitches Sep 2023

Rural camping with basic facilities but everything was clean and all you needed for a few nights camping. Even a freezer with ice packs. Only problem was sporadic loo paper supplies. Lovely open field some trees for shade if required, but a very lovely spot to camp with good nearby walks.

Site's response

Thank you so much for your kind review. The reason for the sporadic toilet paper supplies is that we do not supply it. We do state this so you should have known about it before booking. We are really pleased you had a nice time and do hope you will return.

Lovely location and stay

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass Tourer PitchesJul 2023

We stayed at Cattlestone Farm for a couple of nights which was lovely. The campsite was clean, spacious with clean toilets, showers and wash bay. There was even a freezer with ice blocks which you could borrow to keep food cool. This was a lovely touch. Donna is a very kind woman who checked everything was okay, walking round with her two goats, Gin & Tonic, which our 4 year old found hilarious. The only thing to mention is that no toilet roll is provided. I may have missed this in the instructions sent, but this is something to remember. Overall, a brilliant campsite and would recommend to anyone.
