Ideal for visiting Barmouth and surrounding area

An excellent place to stop to explore the area, go walking, biking, fishing,crabbing and also it has excellent places to eat. The campsite itself has different types of accomodation and the staff are really friendly and helpful.

Friendly staff, beautiful location and clean toilet / shower blocks

We loved staying here. The location was perfect and we were lucky to have a well located pitch. The staff were friendly and helpful and the toilet / shower facilities were always clean. It would be great if the showers had an option to alter the temperature, as they were often a little too hot, particularly for my small children. Overall a lovely stay and we will definitely be back.

Great place

This site is nestled in a valley on the edge of Barmouth. It has great pitches and dividing hedges makes it a feel cosy and pleasant. Facilities are a bit dated but clean and functional. The site is ideal for the beach, the town and is close to transport links. The bus and train services were excellent.

Great site, fantastic location

This site is very welcoming, amenities really good and super clean. Location can't really be beaten. Beach on the doorstep with a flat 20 minute walk into town. Quiet site ,would definitely recommend.

Pleasant stay

We stayed for just 1 night as touring west Wales, but this has been the best stop so far. We were greeted by friendly staff who were quick to check us in, direct us to our pitch & point out the facilities. The site is ideal for walking to the beach & into Barmouth. Toilets/showers were clean & there were plenty of recycling bins, Elsan points & washing up areas. The little shop was a bonus. We would recommend Hendre Mynach.

Toilets could do with new lick of paint....mould spots on shower roof beams..

Excellent

In our 60s. Very first time camping. Loved how safe informative and organised it was. Loved the guy driving round to your pitch and making sure you were ok and needed anything. Loved the clear instructions. Loved my dog being near to beach and free. Loved the fact that we slept safe and contented. Loved the quirky little town nearby. Loved everything, nothing to complain about.

Excellent location

Excellent location, about 30 mins flat walk into Barmouth. Lovely, clean site and friendly wardens. Two toilet/shower blocks, dated but clean. Will definitely stop here again.

Not the best

Not the best. Asked to be close to the toilet and shower facilities as disabled. They let in groups of people who were next to each other and very noisy at the night time, keeping us awake until 1am in the morning, shouting and screaming like children. Not impressed with the site allowed large group to use the site, keeping us awake until after 1am, banging into the caravan. Entrance to the site is very steep.

We are sorry to hear that you were not satisfied but to answer your points above. Firstly, you booked a 5m4m tent but you turned up in a touring caravan with awning, so had to be moved accordingly. The pitch available because of your booking error was no more than 100 metres from the toilet block. There was only one family group of 3 tents during your stay, with no complaints from the tents next to them - did you call the out of hours warden number? I don't believe the 1 star reflects the standard of service

Excellent site

Great site great location and good value. Have been coming back for over 50 years, great staff, friendly, secure, good facilities and great access for beach and town. Friendly efficient staff and good clean facilities.

Unreasonable request

A staff member asked me to move my tent, saying it was too close to the pitch boundary and told me to follow the instruction. But I was clearly within my space and not taking up any extra area. I found it unfair and hope they improve how they handle these situations.

Short stay in shepherd's hut

Had a lovey two night stay, staff were very friendly and helpful. Level walk into Barmouth where you can catch the train into Porthmadog etc. Would highly recommend the site

Absolutely perfect

Site is so peaceful and relaxing, not a noise ever. Kids park, little shop onsite, toilets, showers, laundrette. Perfect. Shops just down the road, and amusements and rides for kids. We've loved it, perfect for just chilling.

Lovely camp, close to a beach/ lovely walks/close to Barmouth town. Helpful staff, will definitely come back.

Very good

Good location, dog friendly, 20 minute walk along the beach to Barmouth which was great. Good facilities, water tap on pitch, shower block and toilet block and dish washing area. Quiet in the late evening. Staff friendly, All in all a nice overnight stay.

Great access to beach and 20 min walk into Barmouth. Very clean facilities and water and ehu on the pitch. Very pleasant and helpful site wardens.

Lovely campsite and friendly staff

We stayed for bank holiday weekend and had a lovely enjoyable stay. Upon arrival staff were friendly and accommodating, we were given a map and also shown to our pitch by staff. The running of the campsite was very impressive logistically worked really well with a walkie talkie system. We were in field 3 which was an EHU field very good size pitch with easily accessible facilities. Showers and toilets were clean and checked and replenished regularly. Lovely play area and the grounds were well maintained. Convenient access to Barmouth beach not far to walk at all. A good distance from the town, close enough to walk but far enough away to be nice and quiet. Overall a fantastic stay will be returning soon!!
