A wonderful area and an amazing camp site. Very clean and tidy, very friendly staff at all times and the site is kept 100%, spot on. The toilets are very clean at all times, there is enough showers and toilets for the site and never had to wait 👍🏼 The wash area good and even had a dog washing area that was handy. It was mega close to the beach and 25 mins walk to Barmouth.

We were given our pitch by one man who, the next day told us we were not far enough over so had to move. A family came next to us and took over the whole of one side and lit a great big BBQ (fire pit flames were so high, we were worried sick). My wife has palliative care and has problems breathing. We had to have all windows closed and the weather was so hot. We were meant to stay until Friday, but we left Wednesday and no one has even been in touch to see what had gone wrong. Wi-Fi advertised but where we were at the bottom of a hill, you could not get on it. Not wheelchair friendly.
Site's response
Good morning. We are sorry to hear of your worries after you had left, we site all our customers and give clear instructions as to where the caravan needs to be in order to keep the fire breaks. In respect to your neighbour, we do not allow fires or fire pits and supply all customers with an out of office number to call if there are any issues, also as you would have seen the wardens do regular walks during the evening, especially looking out for fires and fire pits. Customers go home early for a number of personal reasons, some customers tell us, some do not. If you had flagged an issue up, that we had not seen then we could have dealt with it.

Not everyone likes barbeques, we don't use them. Too much barking, no animals and it could have been good. Slept okay.

On arrival we were welcomed, booked in and escorted to our pitch. All the staff we came into contact with were really helpful and friendly. The location is really good and a couple of minutes walk from the beach. Great to listen to the waves during the quiet night. Lovely shop with friendly, helpful staff. The toilets and showers are really good and cleaned daily and always a fresh. It was at the higher end of our budget but it certainly delivered what you'd expect when paying a little more.

We found this site to be lovely. The location is fantastic, a lovely 20 minute walk into Barmouth at the side of the sea. The staff were friendly and helpful. The site is well kept and facilities are good. Our only criticisms are the Wi-Fi is poor (which they are aware of and told us they were updating) and the toilet and shower blocks could do with updating. That said, we really enjoyed our stay there.
Fandabbydozy!

On arriving, we requested an upgrade as I didn't realise there weren't any toilets in the Shepherd's Hut when booking, much to the dismay of my PMT suffering wife. Within a couple of minutes, they'd found us a 6 berth caravan. Considering the Shepherd's Hut had a couple of beds & a table, we now had Wi-Fi, a fridge, a kettle, a tv & DVD player, 2 toilets, a shower, decking with a bench & tons more room, which seemed like a steal for an extra £30! The staff were an absolute pleasure to deal with too, the beach was only a short walk away & the pub about 10 mins. I highly recommend a stay here. There's also a small shop on site, in case you've forgotten anything. 5*s for this place 👍🏻

This was our first stay and our first time with a camper van so the booking for two nights was to try the experience. The reception were very helpful and the amenities great. A 30 min walk into the lovely town of Barmouth with good shops, bars and restaurants. The beach was just just a couple of minutes away. The is a railway with a train running regularly but did not disturb us. There was a small shop on site to provide the necessities if required. The town and surrounding countryside with mountains and coastal resorts, not to mention the famous 'Portmierion' Italian Village offer a great selection to visit. The camping plots were a good size with electric hook up and water. The grounds were kept in good order and the toilets / wash room kept clean. I could tell there were long stay caravans established. Our experience has spurred us camping onward.

Lovely welcome guided to our pitch by a pleasant gentleman. The site pitch we had was with hookup and water, there is a place to dispose of waste and two toilet blocks which were very clean. It is a pleasant walk along the promenade into the town.

Just spent 4 nights at this lovely site. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Facilities all very clean and in good order. Not many people staying when we were there so plenty of space around our pitch. The walk into Barmouth is flat and about a 20 minute walk by the sea, which was great. The walk up to the main road to catch the bus or walk a different way into Barmouth is quite steep so choose your route accordingly! Trains run right past the site a couple of times per hour but we enjoyed seeing them so not a problem for us. There is a playground for younger children and the beach is very close by. Shop available on site too but we didn't use it. We would definitely return.

This site was really nice, the staff were so friendly & welcoming. The toilet/showers were clean, footpath onto the beach & a cafe that sells hot food 5 mins from the site. Shop on site that sells necessities. You can walk down the beach or coast path to the town. My kids commented how beautiful it was on the site. We stayed in a pod the views were stunning. Would definitely visit again. Thanks.

Lovely location. A very short walk to the beach with a little cafe/bar just outside the site open late and Barmouth walkable for most. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, we didn't have any problems but I imagine nothing would have been too much trouble. They answered all my random questions about the area with a smile. Toilets and showers available 24 hours and free to use, checked regularly by staff and thoroughly cleaned once a day. Entire site was clean and tidy the entire stay, will definitely recommend to others and hope to be back next year. Only downside was Wi-Fi/phone signal was very poor but didn't impact the stay much at all

Lovely site. Lovely and friendly staff and perfect location. Despite the site being pretty big, there was no trouble, no problems and all campers respected the no noise after 10pm. Close to the town, right on the beach. Beautiful location. A very enjoyable, fun and relaxed stay. We can't wait to go again.

We as a family of 5, with 2, 11 and 14 year olds, really enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the non electric tenting area and the Wi-Fi was quite poor, so would be an idea to have the Wi-Fi extended to that site maybe. Not far from Barmouth shops, well not in the car anyway. All the staff were helpful, site was tidy, no problems at all. We even got use to the train going past as the site is right by the track and also right by the beach.

Easy to find, on the road North out of Barmouth. Well set out camping plots - even those without water and electricity. 1st class service from all the staff in terms of friendliness, courtesy and helpfulness. Small shop on site for the odd bits. The milk is not too expensive and the bacon is very nice indeed. Maybe one day they will build an amenity block at the far end of the site where the 'unplugged' tents are.

Spacious cabin for 2 adults and 2 children, nice to have the decking for cooking and sitting out. Toilet and shower block just below raised cabin area, always clean and hot water. Site is located close to the beach and a lovely walk next to the beach into the town.

We stayed in the shepherd's hut while my son stayed with his partner and three children ages 4, 7 and 9 stayed in the tent. The site is on the beach great location. There is a great play park for them. The showers are spotless. My original booking was no availability for electric for the tent, but the lady I spoke to on the phone managed to get us close together with electric for the tent. You know you've had a great time when the children are crying because they don't want to go home. Great site recommended. The sunset was amazing.

Very well kept site, friendly staff. Clean shower, toilet and pot wash areas. Good sized pitch. Very close to the beach, especially from the top field. Small, but well-stocked on-site shop. Maybe another toilet block required, a long walk from the top end of the site to use the facilities. So many guests have dogs, with the vast majority cleaning up after their pets, but some who didn't, and allow their dogs to bark late at night/early morning (not the campsites fault obviously!) A shame there is no sea view, but great proximity, and an easy walk to the town along the promenade.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Hendre Mynach. The site is well laid out, always scrupulously clean and facilities are excellent. Site staff work hard to maintain standards and will drop everything if campers require their help. We were fortunate to be sited on pitch 70 which is located in a small lawned area opposite the reception office and well-stocked shop. The site also seems to attract nice people and we made several new friends on this visit. We are delighted to recommend any prospective caravaner or camper and we will return sometime in the future. For more information, I suggest that you visit the YouTube channel.
