Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2023

Overview - highly recommend! Lovely location, fantastic and friendly owners, excellent value for money. Had planned this trip for a while but left booking quite late. Hadn't even looked at campsites until a few days before so left it very late expecting all the best places to be taken. Booked Wenault Wild Camp as it was near to where we wanted to go and looked nice but didn't really do much research other than that. I myself was late to arrive but the rest of my party were on time and warmly welcomed by the owners and shown to our pitch. The field itself is massive with plenty of space for multiple groups without feeling crammed in. Each pitch has it's own firepit and there is a communal shelter near the top of the field. The view is stunning and on a good day you will be able to see for miles. The compost toilets, whilst basic, are more than ample and most importantly clean, dry and tidy, with hand washing facilities available just outside. There are also showers onsite, which is a great addition to any camping experience. There is secure parking in the field so there is no need to carry all of your camping gear miles, which was very beneficial when we had to dodge the rain setting up. The rural location is another key part to the appeal of this site. You have the perks of being out in the middle of nowhere with nothing but the sound of birds singing and the stream that runs through the site whilst also only being about 15 minutes from Neath and the associated shops. There are plenty of local walks from the campsite to keep you entertained with walks such as the 4 Waterfalls and Pen-y-fan about a further 20-30 minutes away. There was also another camping field with pretty much the same set up plus, should you wish to enjoy a more luxurious camping trip, there's also a more private field with Shepard's huts etc, which looked great. Throughout our stay, the owners brought us drinking water and checked to see everything was ok with our stay. I simply can't fault anything during our stay. This is a wonderful local family run business that deserves so much more support. If you're reading this trying to decide whether or not to book - go for it! We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be coming back in the future. Thank you very much for everything, we wish you the best of luck and look forward to seeing how the site develops from here.

Peaceful, tranquil
