Camping with nature

Into the Sticks features just a handful of pitches in the pure seclusion of a nature reserve. It's the ideal eco-friendly camping break in reach of the Pembrokeshire Coast and Preseli Hills. If you'd like a few more comforts in the countryside, there's also a Tiny Home to rent in a private corner of a meadow with vast views. A hot shower looking out into the tree canopy, campfires, meeting the animals and nature trails make this extra special.

Medium Tent - Nature Reserve Grass CampingApr 2023

A truly great experience staying here. Peaceful and environmentally friendly. A nature trail that both adults and children will enjoy. The location is at the end of a narrow road- truly off the beaten tracks. Great that no cars can be parked near the pitches! Owners will help you move your stuff from your vehicle to the pitch (quad bike & trailer) and wheelbarrows are available. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review, Tim. We are glad you enjoyed the peace and tranquillity of our site and hope to see you again. Jo and Kev.

We would give more stars if we could. Don't be put off by the slightly higher price comparted to other campsites- there is so much that makes this place genuinely special. Huge pitches with no close neighbours, absolutely idyllic natural setting, free firewood every night, pizza/ jacket potato nights each week, and lots of activities that the kids can get involved with if they want. The camping barn has lots of stuff for those wet days.Jo & Kev make this place- they're super relaxed, nothing is too much bother and their passion for the site and the nature within it, is infectious. My daughter fed the animals (pigs, ponies, chickens) everyday with Jo (who is amazingly patient :-) ) and was the highlight of her stay. Not once did the kids tell me they were bored- result! And to top it all off, the beaches and surrounding area is stunning. Highly recommended, we will be back for sure.

Absolutely beautiful campsite with large pitches and lots of privacy. Astonishing nature with wild animals and butterflies. Campsite is run with very friendly and helpful owners. We have visited this place twice last year and we will be back. Definitely recommend this place!

The best campsite I have ever been to. This place is amazing. We stopped a few times in the Tiny House and we couldn't wish for better holiday. If you need to recharge your batteries, this place is just perfect. The owners are great and so welcoming. We will definitely be back many more times!

We stayed here last year and had a wonderful experience. The campsite has a relaxed and natural feel, with huge pitches that you get to via a cut out path in the meadow. We had a fire pit and toasted marshmallows in the evenings. We enjoyed the vast nature trail walks on site, plus a pretty river running through the land. We even found tiny frogs hopping along the path! There were lots of animals and we helped feed the piglets each day which was lovely! We took advantage of the pizza night, making our individual pizzas with fresh dough and toppings provided for a small charge. These were cooked to perfection in a wood oven - delicious! There is a large barn with a pool table and games as well as a shop and fridge if you need to keep essentials fresh. Jo and Kev were brilliant hosts and gave us a warm welcome. The shower is also amazing - hot water and a rainforest type view whilst you are in the shower was just lovely. We were given some advice on the best things to do locally - we visited beaches, the blue lagoon and the stunning cathedral. We enjoyed our stay so much, we are coming back this summer - the kids often talk about Into the Sticks and it's a lovely place to make memories and have fun!

We book this campsite every year for a week. Started when my youngest was a baby. He's 4 now and it's the 4th time we go this summer, and it only gets better every year! It's a fab place for family to bond. It's quiet, beautiful, and there are loads of simple activities to do. We love the location and the setup of the site is very natural. It's my favourite holiday destination. Last year we managed to book the tiny home for the kids' grandparents, so they were able to spend a week "camping" with us, but with more comfort. They loved it.

Site's response

Thank you for loving our place as much as we do. Kev and I can't wait to have you all back again this summer. We have lots of craft ideas for this year too, now we can all mix again after covid.

We had a wonderful stay at Into the Sticks. The land is beautiful and there are wonderful pigs, ponies and sheep. There is a nice trail to follow around the wooded area of the land. The eco amenities were very good. The Shepherd's Hut is a great space to stop in.

Site's response

Thank you Amy. We remember listening to Toms very contagious laugh while you were here. We are so pleased you got to walk the nature trail. Kev works really hard to keep the balance of nature and ease of walking on the trails. The piglets have grown so much and we have super baby Soay sheep now. We hope to see you again.

We loved our stay at Into The Sticks. Such a calm getaway in a peaceful setting. The nature walks through the woods are lovely and the home fired pizza night is a highlight. Kev and Jo are so welcoming. Our daughter loved feeding the pigs and getting to meet their two Shetland Ponies. A great place for children to detox and feel the freedom of the outdoors. Lots of coast to explore on the doorstep too. An all round great escape!

Site's response

It's a wonderful way to lose yourself in nature. The peace is only broken by an array of birds and wildlife. To say it was a relaxing week is an understatement. I could have stayed for the rest of the summer! Lovely nature walks, the joy of sitting and listening to the river which runs through the site. Jo and Kevin are lovely and knowledgeable hosts and happy to advise or help with anything. It's also 'green' in every way and it feels good to be supporting the world around you. Close to Newgale and Abereiddi (for body-boarding), down the road from St. David's and it's lovely Cathedral and eating places. This was truly heaven and I am so looking forward to my next opportunity to return...maybe to camp there next time just for a change! It's a really lovely place and you won't be disappointed.

I would really recommend this gorgeous campsite - we had an amazing time and already booked to go again this summer! The place is beautiful, there are loads of activities to do and the owners are very friendly and make sure everyone has a lovely stay. The facilities are eco and amazing - really clean and lots to do in the campers barn. The animals are great, they have ponies, chickens, piggies and sheep. I would highly recommend walking around the site when you arrive, there is a beautiful nature walk about 5k loop around the site - a gorgeous river and woodlands - it's a little patch of magic in Pembrokeshire and the best camping holiday we have ever had!
