About the site

Nestled right on the doorsteps of the Yorkshire Dales, the safari tents here (Grouse, Snipe and Woodcock) enjoy a truly breathtaking setting within a 400 acre family farm. Explore acres of peaceful countryside from your safari tent - each sleeping up to six. There are three pet friendly and spacious safari tents, each sleeping up to six people in a king size bed, twin bed and cabin bed. There is a private bathroom with a toilet, shower and sink, and all bed linen and towels are available to hire. In the main area there is plenty of space for hanging out, with a living room space, dining area and well equipped kitchenette waiting for your arrival. Outside, you'll have your own decking with a BBQ and fire pit and picnic bench seating, perfect for dining al fresco on those summer evenings. One well behaved pet allowed.

Dale2Swale Glamping is open from 28/03 to 31/10 in 2025 and from 27/03 to 31/10 in 2026. Stay from £170/night for 2 people (2-night minimum).

The camp is really charming, the tent is fabulous - we loved it. Unfortunately our 3 nights there were completely spoiled by inconsiderate campers in the tent next to us. The first two nights, the other campers were up until 2 am, getting louder and louder as the night went on. We didn't get to sleep until after 3am both nights. Particularly annoying because we went away to celebrate my husband's birthday which we were too tired to enjoy! The 3rd and last night, there were new campers next to us; four really loud blokes who kept going until after 12 o'clock despite us asking them to keep the noise down. They were really rude in response to our reasonable and polite requests. The owners can't control the type of people staying there but the campsite itself isn't set up well to cope with this issue. There's no vegetation around the tents to deaden the noise and there's no one on site to control other campers. Of course, there are only 3 tents so that's not practical but just wanted to warn other campers, especially those with young kids. Our kids are older so coped pretty well, had they been younger with little sleep, it would have been so much worse!

With a small site of three tents it isn't viable to have an onsite representative at all times, we do however ensure that all of our customers are able to contact the owner at any time. We also rely on trust that all of our guests are courteous and considerate to each other however this isn't something we are able to fully predict or control in advance of guests arrival. This is the first time such an issue has been raised regarding inconsiderate guests on our site, one which we absolutely would have dealt at the time if we had know about the issue. We ensure that all guests know that the owner is available to be contacted for any issues at any time. Chris

Great stay at Dale2Swale. Never been glamping before and the safari tent exceeded all expectations. You have all the comforts of home but still the experience of sleeping under canvas next to nature. As there's only 3 tents on the site you're guaranteed privacy and plenty of outdoor space. With uninterrupted views from your door you can truly relax and unwind. Richmond is only a couple of miles away and within walking distance of the site. This is a lovely walk which takes in Easby Abbey and the river Swale. What made the stay special was the amazing welcome from Chris. Communication prior, during and at the end of our stay was excellent. Guests enjoyment and comfort is obviously the number one priority for Chris. Definitely will recommend to family and friends and looking forward to a return visit. Many thanks Chris.
